New Envato Watermark on VideoHive

Hi Authors,

Last year, we made some updates to the Envato Market header (navigation). These changes meant that visitors to Envato Market will see a focus on what each site contains and a de-emphasis on each site’s individual brand.

Today, we are announcing that in line with these updates, we will also be moving to an ‘Envato’ Watermark for all video content that requires it.

How will this work?

We are releasing a new, generic Envato watermark for video previews. From the release date, all VideoHive items submitted will be required to use it.

This means that VideoHive authors will need to ensure all submissions and resubmissions carry this new watermark as this will be checked as part of the regular item review processes.

The new Envato Watermark is available for authors to use from today and can be found on the help center here.

You will have two weeks from the launch date on the 28th of February to make sure your items are using the new Envato watermark. Any items submitted after this time (14th of March onwards) using the old watermark, will be soft rejected.

Please note that existing video items in Market won’t be re-processed by our system.

We’ll be monitoring this thread for the next seven days answering questions not yet answered. Please remember our community guidelines when you post.

Thanks!

  • Hello, did not get this one. This means that all the old stock footages, in my case, that are allready in the marketplace we have to submit a new preview with the new watermark?
And what about the files that are allready in the review process?

Hi @DC_Studio. Thanks for your questions!

To clarify:

This means that all the old stock footages, in my case, that are already in the marketplace we have to submit a new preview with the new watermark?

No resubmissions are required. Items can stay as they are.

And what about the files that already in the review process?

Only items submitted two weeks after the launch date (14th of March, 2018) onwards will be soft rejected if the new watermark is not applied. This means items that are currently in the queue now, that have been submitted before the new watermark was released are not affected.

Thank you!

This is just for the motion graphics section not the Aftereffects templates? Am I right

This applies to all Stock Footage submissions and any Motion Graphics submissions that are applicable. Motion Graphics previews that display exactly what the main file is 1:1 should display the new watermark, but any presentation-style previews for Motion Graphics, where the animations included are edited together in a way where the main files are not on display alone, in a way where they could be downloaded from the preview, do not need to contain the watermark. Although if you want to watermark your presentation-style Motion Graphics previews, you’re free to do so at your own discretion.

Hey! What about the videohive videos or photodune images we use in our previews? (and of course we link back to them). They already have the old watermarks on them… We can not remove them since they are not ours…

Hi Authors,

As you know, we recently announced some important changes to our watermarks (as above).

This outlined that will be moving to a new, generic Envato watermark for video previews and all VideoHive items submitted after its release will be required to use it.

Today, we are officially launching the new Envato watermark and you can find it on the help center here. Authors will need to ensure that all video item submissions and resubmissions carry this new Envato watermark going forward.

Please note that any video items submitted two weeks after today’s launch date (14th of March) using the old watermark, will be soft rejected.

We will monitor this new update post over the next seven days and answer any general questions you may have about the change over.

Thanks!

Is there a vector file available for the watermark?

What do you need a vector file for?

The new watermark doesn´t work fine in every projects.
The last wátermark had a bright shape but also a dark border, so it did work fine with dark ítems and light ítems (in the dark ítems you saw the brigth shape, and in the lighter ítems you saw the darker border of the watermark).
But the new watermark has not a dark border so in darker ítems work fine but in brightest or white ítems you don´t see the watermark, just dissapears.

Hi @Fermu,

We appreciate your input and will continue to investigate this through more testing. We will keep authors updated on any updates or changes to this.

Thanks!
