Guys maybe someone of you knows. How should I make VH item available on elements? On item edit page I still have 3 tabs:
Update Description & Price, Update Item & Tags (requires review), Delete the Item - standard ones only.
No “Elements” tab.
I tried with different browsers…
I received email about successful handpicking to elements maybe a week ago, I also received a few emails with some tips about item selecting.
Does anybody know something about it?
Hi Maxim, send an email to elements.authors@envato.com explaining your problem. They will help you
Unless I’m mistaken, they’re all automatically available on Elements, unless you have After Effects items and then you can choose.
any news on earnings?
How about September ? could you share in percentage?
I’d like to hear actual numbers. This author, for example, made $1 in April. If those are the kinds of numbers he’s used to, 20% of some laughably small total might still be very sad.
Last month my Elements income was 5$ less than videohive. Absolutely can not complain!
April was when it was just staff tests, so it was no reflection at all on normal earnings, May was kind of up to full power, but video wan’t fully-live for the entirety of the month. For the last two months, the minimum any author has earned, is just over $190 a month.
I bet you don’t find any videohive author who will complain about Elements earnings today.
But you will find more which are complaining for low sales on videohive . We still don’t know how this new opportunity of buying super cheap items will affect videohive on long range.
It´s great to read that no videohiver is complaining about Elements earning at this point. BUT could the earnings be much higher with a better subscription model with different pricing options in terms of low/medium/big budgets? Would a change like that also protect marketplaces in the long run?
We are discussing this in terms of Audio here, but the topic is relevant for everyone, so feel free to join! Tiers in the subscription model - Audio in Elements discussion
Yes, it could be better. But you need to understand that Elements still developing. It already changed prices several times during 5 months. Envato really tries to do it better for all of us. So don’t run so fast, there are thousands of things that need to be done. The main thing right now, is to implement music category on Elements. Or you think it’s better to focus on price model? Test it. Maybe also fix dozen bugs. Make new features. And only after that include audiojungle authors. I don’t think that you really want it.
Just be patient. You are not selling your tracks on Elements yet but already discuss how to change and make a better price model.
Of course this discussion is important. Music and video industries have many differences e.g. royalties from PROs, personal listening services, the universality of music, which can be used independently, publishers, etc… This makes music branch little more hm… flexible and complex. That’s why we should think how to set up basic subscription tier for the music to avoid problems in the future.
In fact Envato started the discussion, they have listened to our feedback and afterwards they excluded music broadcast from Elements, announcing potential changes (probably tiers) which might be made in the future.
@MojoSoundtrackMusic asked a good question. Any VideoHive feedback will be priceless. We don’t want to change whole system now. We want to discuss about our future
I have all the time in the world If anyone is rushing it, it would be Envato. I´m not invited to Elements for your information, I just think it´s healthy with different perspectives and feedback to Envato about the subscription model. Like you say there is thousand things that needs to be done, and the more thats done properly from the beginning the better I will say. When Audio is coming to Elements its a whole new world introduced and I 100% agree it should not be rushed.
@RedOctopus As you said you need feedback from Videohive authors, so keep in mind that we don’t know much in your industry.
From my point of view, your price model could be better. But current one is also working great, and you can feel it only when you get your first several reports. Of course, you could have some specific things in music industry, but this questions is too far from our (videohive) reality. Just imagine that Themeforest author go to Audiojungle forum and try to start conversation about item support, tickets, bugs and updates.
PS: Also it’s better to ask feedback on Elements part of the forum.
@DOGmotion You are of course right. We only ask about your experience in our context, any feedback will be appreciated
Personally I suggest to upload good tracks but with low sales first. Also tracks that were popular several years ago but now have really small sales, they can perform well on Elements. After first report (from the full month, when you also get contributor bonus) you can decide, do you need higher price models or everything already is fine.
For example, when Elements invited videohive authors, there was agreement that our items will be available only for annual subscribers. But when Elements finally launch video category, they made everything available for month subscription plan. You can’t even imagine how angry I was. Some conversation you may read here. And now, I have no any questions, and I’m planing to upload more and more on Elements.
If you don’t believe me, you can read, as another example, @Rickyloca - his comments before and after. So my final advice will be - relax.
PS: Oh, as I see you are from Poland. May I ask you some questions in private?
@DOGmotion thanks!
And sure, let’s go priv.
AFAIK all the stock footage items are ingested automatically by Envato to Elements - so regarding item availability on Elements there’s no choice…
Is it still a good idea to set 40-60 USD prices for stock footage items on Videohive?
Or will it be barely sellable if the price is higher than let’s say 33 USD?
I’m talking now guys about items which aren’t represented widely within Videohive collection but they are sold from time to time with prices mentioned above. But those aren’t something truly unique though.
What do you think?
I have uploaded a project in elements and in few hours it is all over the internet through pirate sites.
