DisMay
Sales have slowed down a lot over the last few years for me. I believe all the subscription licensing models are the main reason.
The best buyer was America, unfortunately, almost no purchases are made from America anymore, what’s wrong?
…and what do you think that graph will look like when 7-8 billion people have the same brilliant idea? The barrier to entry is almost non-existent.
That’s exactly what I thought a few months ago.
NOPE, still number one in 2023
2nd week without sales. This time it seems like it’s finally coming to the very end for good. All items sent to AI learning in a few weeks, and we’re all off the chart.
I’ll miss my Envato days a lot. Absolutely over.
Right now - 0 sales …
probably this is the end, which will stretch for some time and what will happen next - it’s unclear … some of the authors will leave, the authors of the Elements will remain …
Worst month ever so far.
Looks like my last month on here will be a big fat zero. How fitting!
Good luck to everyone!
if I remove all of my tracks and ask them to close my account, do they automatically pay out any remaining earnings, even if under $50?
No sales for 4 days. This is the worst month in the last 6 years. Also updates in the authors agreement, all this really annoys me.
How many people are ready to close their account ? I’m asking that in a serious way. I’m ready to do it, if we are acting like a big group, like if we were united on that. More than composing some track which will bring pennies right now, we have some action to take right now. If we want to stop to be annoyed and if we want to see something change, the annoyed feeling has to be in the other side. Not ours. These last year were terrible, when author will start to do something ? What’s better, closing an account which bring few bucks right now and hope to see a change happening ? Or wait for the end (the end it’s just there, what will be the difference between now vs in few years → just worst. We are too passive
It was clear to me a year ago that Audiojungle was ending its existence, because at that time many people wrote that it was dying, died, there were no sales, etc. If a person understands that for 7-8 hours of work, he will receive 2 dollars, or nothing at all, but continues to do the same thing every day, promoting on this forum populist ideas in the style of “someone owes us something, we are the authors”, then my question is not about the jungle model, but about the intelligence of this person who cannot accept reality and adapt to it.
Learn to do something new, the market is big. Everyone will find a job.
Authors create the assets ex-nihilo. Those assets are what Envato is selling. There is nothing populist in saying the authors are the creators of wealth and should get their fair share, which Envato has been gnawing at little by little, up to the latest twist where they take ownership of your assets without talking retribution.
But I guess coming here just to insult your fellow authors makes you the better man.
In all likelihood, I will be closing my account. I am devastated to throw away ten years of my life. I knew the way it was all going. But still, now that it’s becoming real, man does it sting!
It’s normal for people to want money and some certainty about earnings, but if my words offend anyone, I apologize. If you think it’s normal to see a bunch of posts about how the system is unfair and the author should get more and blah blah blah, that’s your right. In my opinion, anyone who finds envato or other libraries unfair can take their music from here and develop their career as an independent composer. For example, I don’t care how much money comes from the stock, because I write music for my own pleasure once a week and work in a completely different field, so I am in no way dependent on income from libraries.
Let’s start something please, don’t remain in the silence and the passivity. Enough is enough. Too many years of silence lead us in this situation.
I have been here for 14 years. I am closing my account. Envato has turned out to be a huge disappointment. A duplicitous, self-serving, self-congratulating, enemy of the creative community. It didn’t start out that way, but that’s where it’s ending up.
I would encourage everyone to devote some time to spreading the word about what has gone on here.
What can I say, there are practically no sales this month. The last sale was 3 days ago, and ahead of the weekend. Barely collected for withdrawal this month.
