So, what sunday gave you my dear composers friends? for me 2 sales
I’ve had 1 today, hopefully, things will start picking up a little now.
As a new author with old account, i get no more than one sale in a week.
5 days with nothing, a super slow month and just a gut wrenching feeling of what this place could have been… Still, have a great selling and safe week, mates!
It is not necessary, i think the authors know what “AudioJungle Sales Monitor 3” means…
monday - no sales … aaaagggrrrrr
Hi Everyone! Need to ask something about sales- I am getting one or two sales a week since the start of this year, and it happens either on Friday or on Tuesday of the week, also lowering the prices doesn’t lead to more sales and they still come on Tuesday and Friday, is there some kind algorithm working or what’s really happening? This month it was 2 sales in the first two weeks and only 1 sale last week, no sales till now in this week. Let me know if anyone can explain this.
Also adding more tracks isn’t leading to more sales. Normally I put around 8-10 tracks a month, if I start uploading only 4 tracks a month will the sales decrease or it will follow the same pattern? I guess after March my portfolio will have about 85-90 tracks.
Tuesday’s and Thursday’s are typically ok for me. I do not think the algorithm if there is one at all is that smart to select certain days and switch the search around for the market. Uploading new content will not necessarily help with sales unless it is unique, very different from the usual mediocrity and is high in quality. The audio market either requires cheap run-of-the-mill standard stuff that seems to be the bulk of this marketplace or diverse and unique material that can be used in many and interesting ways.
Having a large portfolio does not guarantee sales from what I have experienced lately although revenue is what every author should be concerned with but not everyone understands this. I do not for one moment speak with authority on the sales issue as I certainly am not a big seller but I try not to create the usual standard mediocrity that has over saturated the market hence small to no sales at a ridiculous price tag in order for it to make some money.
Also what further compounds the sales issue is that advice given from the forum suggests listening to or even downloading tracks from the top sellers into the DAW and then to base tracks on these hence every track begins to sound or directly copy these existing tracks. @AurusAudio came up with a best seller and unique sound that everyone copied and unfortunately the fresh, new tracks stalled. Offering this kind of advice may be genuinely made in a helpful way but the consequence is that the audio market sounds similar or the same. The rest is history.
Further, it is not the responsibility of the reviewer to identify copied or template tracks as they need to get through an ever expanding review queue. How can we expect reviewers to cross-reference submissions?
“It is what it is.”
I await the snoopers now.
Thanks for responding @gballx. I completely agree with your point of making unique and high quality music, and to be honest that is what I have been focusing on since the past few months, also I have been trying to make more tracks in a genre which I can do justice to, in terms of quality, I still post a similar sounding guitar harmonics type corporate thing from time to time as that has lead to more sales for me in the past, but now even that isn’t working. Since the time I have started focusing on unique music and working more in my feel, my sales have dropped, from December my new tracks haven’t sold at all, I have about 30 new tracks just lying there with zero sales, and these do not sound similar to the existing items on AudioJungle.
Also for the revenue part, it was quite similar in October, Nov and December, slight drop in Dec, but since Jan it has been completely hell. So making unique tracks isn’t leading to more revenue in my experience and growing my portfolio is also not leading to more revenue :P, so I don’t know, maybe the music I am making isn’t that sellable on AudioJungle or something, or this is a seasonal drop in sales which I am not aware of.
If anyone has some feedback/suggestion for my tracks, please give.
The sale of the week arrived, see you on next week.
Does it always arrive on the same day?
Not for me, some weeks ago was in saturday.
PS; @gballx, say hello to my snoopers…
I am starting to think to stop to post in the forum, just for try to take some real analytics about views, because in this way is imposible to do…
Another week started without a single sale or a thread of hope…
Even snoopers have been scarce and silent!
Oh well, time to make some music, nonetheless.
Boring week…0_0
For me, this has only ever worked the other way around sadly. If I spend hours doing a high-quality track that’s unique it gets 1-2 sales on here.
