This is how they treat authors

i don’t know what is rude personally … can u explain please? i am reading and nothing like this appears to me indeed

u are right, this is place is not a get rich quick thing, we have to pay our dues, to earn our stripes and earning a bit takes time and much effort …

u are basically right but however the supposed quality of an item is also depending on feelings sometimes and depending on what people are aspiring to, it may look good or not and this feeling is varying depending on who’s “judging of the quality”, there’s an artistic part in what we do and this part sometimes makes some guys feel like that they do not understand why they were binned … that’s human too

u are completely right as for what u said , however , how can some guys manage not to take things personally all the same. Actually, it amounts to asking them not to pay any attention to the time, the effort , the dedication and everything that they put into their works so that this is as good as they can possibly do … (according to anyone’s style, skills , experience and so on). the fact of the matte is that a rejection always hurts and somehow some way if it doesn’t hurt u can ask yourself if u are really loving what u do or if u have really worked enough before submitting if it doesn’t … . I guess that the thing is that people should be kind of motivated to do even better afterwards so that they do not experience this again, that’s the real deal, this way they would turn something in a more positive thing and probably manage to take themselves to the next level …

I totaly agree.

I am working in a VFX company for 8 years now and have uploaded up to 15 project on VH. I feel I do have some know how on the matter.

I have uploaded the last item last year. Six month ago I uploaded another that was rejected, then another that was rejected… and those two were actually project I’ve made to a BIG client that has payed me huge for it and I decided to send them to VH… The answer was problems with quality and not in VH standards

So I stopped because I was, gess what, sad with it and for a time I actually gave up on VH since I was maming a lot more and I was happier ouside VH. But two months ago I started doing something new again. This slideshow paralax. At the time this effect and kind of slideshow was new.

I could do something fast and upload at that time but after two rejections I decided to work hard this time. I’ve spend a month working on it making it the best I could and making tweaks and changes all over.

When I uploaded the first time I got a rejection again saying there are to much of this. I made a lot of tweaks and upload it again. It was soft rejected.

A colleague of mine made a very very similar project and uploaded it. My colleague is uploading almost every week, I’m not. After the Soft rejection and new upload I resubmitted and it was rejected again saying:

“does not meet the standars”… two ours latter the project from my colleague is accepted.

So there’s the question… we make choices wile working for VH and this time around I did the best I could with a new template and the answer is just the ones we have bean talking about.

For how much you can handle, the stronger you are, the persistent you are… how would YOU feel?

I completely agree with you. I’m an author as well, so I understand the time and effort that goes into creating an After Effects project.

The problem arises when an author opens a thread on the forum, accusing reviewers of “rejecting projects for the fun of it”. Obviously, its unprofessional and irresponsible, and not how we hope community members will conduct themselves in the forum. Any personal feelings an author might have after a hard-rejection should be channeled into asking – respectively – for an explanation, preferably through a support ticket, rather than taking to the forum to publicly berate someone.

The author who started this thread, to the best of my knowledge, has not opened a ticket with support seeking further advice as to why the project was ultimately hard-rejected, as I previously recommended.

rejections are hurtful buddy, no doubt about it , especially if u did what it took and that u faced this repeatedly, however there’s nothing that u can do apart from always trying to take your game to the next level until u make sure that what u do is that very good that no one can possible even have the possibility to reject your item … that’s hard to reach concensus but that’s what u ahem to try to do as much as possible …

i personally agree with u there are some things that are not done, however , unlike some guys out there , i am not going to worship the whole system as if there was no flaw at all inside. there are some inconsistencies sometimes, that’s a fact, thats’ not disparaging anyone to say just that , this is just that the task of reviewing and of controlling quality is very difficult for a whole lot of reasons

as for what u said about opening a ticket , well , he may have tried , ut judging by my personal experience on the very few rejections that i have had , people did not provide u with any kind of feedback whatsoever (they said we are unable to provide u with a feedback or something like this …), so for me that’s not worth the drive to contact the help center for that , now he may give it a try , it depends on him …

I think people should understand that if you’re uploading items like these slideshows or titles (with a huuuge competition) there is a great chance to get rejected. Every day requirements for these projects are rising. For market health such strict reviewing of these types of projects is right. Market is developing when it growth with more unique projects (unique in design/purpose/usability etc) but not when tons of authors upload tons of parallaxes.

I TOTALLY Agree with you… then Why reject some and accept others really similar?

Please fell free to show me were to do it (I’ve been looking and can’t find it where) and I will gladly do it… at least to have a bigger review on the file.

Good points, I agree with you wholeheartedly, and have explained this numerous times in the past regarding the same issue. Indeed, the system is not without flaws, as all the reviewers are human beings and there will always be an element of error, misjudgment, miscalculation, miswhatever.

We do our best to limit those flaws as much as possible. The soft-reject-then-hard-reject thing, while very rare, has happened numerous times in the past, and I’m sure it will happen into the future.

Lastly, if a support ticket would have been opened, it would have crossed my path :slightly_smiling:

thanks a lot

Ticket sent… Hopefully I did it right

@ruipcsousa Thanks, I’m sure no matter what it will find its way to the appropriate channels.

I would actually like to say I shouldn’t have mentioned the professionalism of the Reviewers. has a seller I have the right to be frustrated and sad and feel bad treated but in the Heat of the moment we, authors, should think first and talk latter… and open a ticket to better understand our issues.

I’ve just had a Project that was Soft Rejected… same problem bro…

Yes…

but after a soft Reject?

reacting too quickly is not always a guaranty to have balance and fairness all the way lol
