Hello everyone, I want to ask other authors, how was your March?
My sales dropped 5 times compared to February. And 5 times compared to March 2024. How is this possible? How can sales drop so sharply, given that I posted many new projects.
How are your sales compared to last month and March 2024?
Same here! I had a few good days, but mostly it was awful. Thousands new tracks from other platforms were added all at once, therefore no chances to have showability for my 4-5 tracks I upload a month usually. And Elements is even worse in March.
Same here as well, worst month. especially this week
Videohive sales or Envato Elements Earnings?
Videohive! Elements sales information now only from FEB
Videohive is a dead platform where there have been no sales for a long time. Go through the accounts of power elite authors, many new works have 1-2 sales at most. I think this fact is already indicative.
You should only look at the profitability of Elements. This is literally the only source of income that is also starting to slowly creep down.
I confirm that sales are dropping hard even with two items in the monthly / weekly top sellers…
I had 30% drop every month of 2025. And 80% drop between March 2024 and 2025.
Videohive is dying, in 3-6 month there will be no more sales.
Indeed
Unfortunately we have to struggling with Ai too. Very bad situation for CG artists and others.
Whole world changing the digital charming very fast.
Both videohive and elements are going down in earnings for a long time now, perhaps since 2022. Still no solution heard from Envato. It is like nobody cares about the situation and pretend like things are normal. Sadly but nothing changes
I think they put all their energy in Ai generation and fancy advertisings about that… I know for sure that AI killed my item VoluMax 3D photo Animator. I knew it was coming but it came faster than I tought.
Not any good jump in item sales, still searching for best approach to react out it more customer, any idea how to increase sales, my item is already in trending from last 2 month still not get any good number in sales.
Everyone blames AI, but I don’t know why. Have you ever tried making a video with AI? I’ve tested the best platforms, and the result is ridiculous. It’s slow, and practically useless. There are good websites with nice demos, but in practice, the result is still laughable. AI currently cannot replace what motion designers do at all. There are a couple of generators that have grabbed a few buyers, but believe me, you didn’t owe your income to them.
Actually, if I remember correctly, you were featured in an Envato marketing video (sorry if I’m mistaken) that talked about how well the marketplace and Elements can coexist, and how that platform is meant for selling larger, more complex projects. So, I guess you made the wrong call. By the way, why don’t you upload your VoluMax product to Elements? I’m curious to know which AI you’re talking about that you think ruined your project?
Also, congratulations on your Parallax work, it’s a beautiful and useful project.
Edit: The future is naturally worrying and overwhelming, but I don’t feel that AI is currently capable of replacing creative and professional motion design. Not even close. One thing is certain: in the future, as AI continues to evolve, the focus will shift more and more towards human creativity — something that, to be honest, artificial intelligence will never truly be capable of. It will only mix patterns based on trends. I don’t think that will be enough, but it will probably attract a lot of lower-demand clients.
Yes correct same here face this problem, not statisfied with results, any boost campaigne for this to increase sales count?
New premium and popular files
Hello, yes you’re absolutely right — I was indeed interviewed by Envato, and at the time, sales on Videohive and Elements did seem complementary. Sales on Videohive have collapsed recently, I’d say over the past six months. What’s the reason for that? I’m not entirely sure, but I’d say Elements and other subscription-based platforms have taken over in the collective mindset, and AI tools have shifted attention away from specialized tools or dedicated content — as if AI could do everything.
Until recently, I was indeed quite concerned about the rise of AI. I used ChatGPT-4o and Leonardo extensively for a major project, and I’m fairly convinced, like you, that these are just powerful tools. There will always be a need for a experimented artist — with a bit of humility — to steer the AI. Not to mention the fact that ChatGPT-4o is actually quite mediocre at producing high-quality images. It’s full of errors and always requires post-processing in Photoshop and upscaling tools. That said, it’s incredibly powerful for generating concepts or isolated elements.
I believe the future belongs to talented and dedicated artists who embrace AI as a tool.
And sadly (for me) VoluMax 3D Photo Animator is now on Elements.
I wouldn’t blame Elements entirely, because other platforms also started implementing the subscription model—if I’m not mistaken, even before Elements. A company simply can’t afford not to adopt a new system—one that, while less favorable for us as users, is more attractive to buyers and more cost-effective—if their competitors are already doing so. Personally, I find the subscription plans way too cheap. Just yesterday, for example, I used AI to translate a video, and a 3-minute piece cost me $27, which also used up all my credits. (Credit based subscription) So how does that compare to getting everything for free for an entire month for even less than that?
It’s a shame that Shutterstock (Envato?) and the other competitors haven’t joined forces to raise the monthly fee across the board. Even so, I would definitely limit the upload quota for authors as well, so that we’d have fewer but higher-quality items. Based on my experience, unfortunately, these kinds of thoughts only seem to exist in forums like this one.
Even though there’s an economic crisis and inflation, even that wasn’t enough to justify a price increase. I just checked the monthly fee, and it looks like they even reduced it! If I remember correctly, it used to be $16, and now it’s €14.50/month with the annual plan. What can I even say to that?
Not possible unless you train generative model with your works only. Upscaling tools - no problem.
Yes, your right. but Ai is still developing. In future Envato also move to the Ai like Freepik. Freepik already replace mockup and 3d elements with Ai. So I never underestimate about Ai. Freepik subscription packages also very cheap. We also use Kling and Runway too. still studying Ai prompts.
