I’ve been creating mockups for Evnato since 2009. I managed to reach the top on GraphicRiver, then smoothly transitioned to Elements. For many years, everything worked well, and sales remained stable and satisfactory. Unfortunately, for the past two years, I’ve been experiencing systematic declines in sales. I’m curious what the situation is like for you? Has anyone found an effective way to improve sales?
We understand your concerns regarding the future of Elements and Envato, and we want to assure you that Envato is absolutely not shutting down; one of our core purposes is to empower creatives to thrive, and we are continuously investing in significant improvements for our Authors and customers.
Envato is Elements now… They won’t shut down Elements.
@KingDog
Any improvements for TF/CC? Your statement creates more questions than what it answers. We would like to see some “improvements” on sales at the marketplace.
The only way to get them to react is to remove the products from all platforms. You’ll see how only then will everything change. Isn’t it true that when you ask your boss for a raise, he’ll tell you these are bad times, that we can’t do it now, … and when you find a better offer, that increase magically appears? Well, this is the same thing.
This sounds good, but tell me something noticeable that Envato did for ht marketplace in the past three years?
I have been asking for someone from the staff to talk with us authors here in the forum since the former CEO posted his last message here on the forum when Colis left. After that absolute silence…
How can we improve this place if there is no communication between us veteran authors and the staff?
We are invisible to you guys, just another number, it will start to matter probably when this number starts to decrease enough…
I am available for free to get this place up and running again,n especially in this AI edge, where creative works as the one we create as authors will be more valuable than ever.
The direction that Envato is going is bad; all metrics are showing that. I don’t understand why you keep pushing this, it makes no sense.
Also competition is starting to appear. I know at this point you think is irrelevant,t but this will change in the near future. I can list here a few new marketplaces… but I am not allowed
One thing should be done to fix things: stop cannibalizing the marketplace, keep Elements as Elements and make it clear to the user that it does not contain the entire Envato items. This will also ive us some freedom to advertise our items, but now if I do that, I am literally giving my money to advertise Elements…
As we’ve previously discussed, our current focus and efforts are in improving Elements. While we’ll continue to adjust and tweak Market, new features and improvements will be happening on Elements first.
I’m well aware of that. I hope it won’t be too late to save the marketplace when you’re done with Elements and ready for the rest, if anything left to save…
What was I saying? Another political speech? Without specifying anything. Listen to me and withdraw everything you have in the elements, they are deceiving you.
Two possible fixes come to mind.
First, we could ask authors to delist stale items themselves—but that’s unlikely; the same confirmation bias that let the items sit untouched for years will keep authors from admitting they’re obsolete.
Second, Envato could simply purge anything that’s (a) unsold for X months, (b) no longer supported, or (c) incompatible with current standards. Roughly half the catalog already falls into at least one of those buckets.
Paradoxically, the AI boom gives Envato an edge here: by pruning the dead weight, Codecanyon and ThemeForest can reposition themselves as curated marketplaces of human-written, battle-tested code—exactly the antidote to the flood of AI-generated scripts that promise everything and debug nothing. All it would take is one investor who actually gets it.
Elements is only for Envato’s purse and not for the authors. The authors are trash for them.
Wait till the authors deletes all of their portfolio till also Elements have zero sales.
Hey there, you’ve got some strong feelings, and we’re here to listen. But I’m a little puzzled, as your account doesn’t seem to have any active items for sale on Envato Market or Elements.
We’re all about empowering creatives to thrive and building a supportive community, so if you’re experiencing any issues, our dedicated support team is here to help you out. We also ask that all conversations in our community remain respectful and constructive.
