So, just because I’ve written “authors deserve better than that,” have you just suddenly concluded that I “bet” only on ThemeForest?
And, What does it have to do with it?
You can laugh as much as you want.
It just doesn’t change the fact that we, whose products Envato sells, deserve better.
So have a nice day with your Jeff Bezos attitude.
Edit: And when it comes to "If you have a business and discover an easiest route to make money what you will do." - The easiest way is not always the best way in the long run, especially for a company like Envato.
Well, I wish you good luck in the future. No one force you to sell here. It was your choice. Now when sells are in decline welcome to the crying valley.
You are here from 2009. and seems like you never read the forum. And especially official announcements over years. Or when the sales goes very well you just sit back and enjoy your earnings.
Overall when elite authors starting to complain it is time to leave the boat.
Obviously I read the forums on a daily basis, you can easily check my stats.
“Official announcements” have nothing to do with it, because they are “official announcements.”
And let’s not arrive to conclusions so quickly, especially when it comes to whether “I sit back and enjoy my earnings” or not.
It is exactly what I’m trying to tell you. Official announcements are official decisions. If tomorrow they will decide to quit ThemeForest or any other marketplace you / me will get nothing but frustrations. I know and I agree you and may authors here put allot of time and effort to build you items / portfolio. By the way I like your items. But we live strange times and decisions are accordingly. I’m not trying to argue with here. We all wants to bring back the 2010-2016 period regarding of sales. But unfortunately I think this will be impossible many years ahead. I HOPE I’M WRONG!
Also global economy is in decline. We all had one year of lockdown. Allot of small business have bin closed (many of our clients are small business). Big corporations have advertising agencies behind. There are riots on all continents. What you guys expect regarding of sales? Happy times isn’t it?
This is my case and I believe there are many more… no matter of the overall situation and lockdown sales were satisfactory until Envato begins testing a few months ago, since then sales 50% drops and main reason is low traffic on Market.
I have my opinion about everything and opened this topic to hear the opinions of other authors… think the authors should be loud about this because Envato it certainly takes part of the earnings of each of us and does nothing to improve the situation.
When Envato start testing it means something doesn’t work well. And what I wrote above affects you indirectly.
Envato cannot help you. I was on the front page few times. Frew yeas ago helps but last times with one week full exposure was a little better then usual.
After testing it works well??? I wouldn’t really say, it has never been a worse situation on Market.
Directly or indirectly impact it doesn’t even matter while things work, it was a slightly lower sales considering the situation in world but when someone turns off the light overnight means that some things are wrong.
Envato can do a lot but it is clearly not their goal for some other reason, a good start would be to remove the Elements banner but it is not in their interest.
The biggest problem with other markets are payment methods, I have PayPal method in one market and it doesn’t really suit me. Payoneer is the best for me…
Almost every market have few different payment options. Also if you ask them they can send money in Payoneer. Also you can easily send moneey from Paypal to Payoneer
It’s a little deeper, this problem has been going on for a couple of months now where earnings and traffic drops by more than 50% and there is no improvement at all.
In my last eight years there has never been such a drop on sale… the weekly average of my items sold was about 40-50, it is now 10 to 15 and like I said it has been going on for months.
On my end:
Income Growth Rate:
409% 2016
22% 2017
108% 2018
129% 2019
139% 2020
-68% 2021
It is sad to see things falling apart, i was getting some hopes and of course advertising Envato to my friends, not sure how do they feel when they have joined this year
