I got sale reversal on 23sept. 2024 for an item sold on 5th April, 2024. Buyer is from Mexico. After 5 month of sale, how reversal took place. Is there any rule?

If memory serves me right, the maximum reversal period is six months. I’ve had several reversals (2 or 3 times) after 6 months. A purchase made in the fall got a reversal in the spring of the following year. And these were high-level tier licenses.
Was it code (theme/plugin) with support provided?
Most Visa and Mastercard credit cards have standard dispute windows of 60 to 120 days, but some credit cards do offer extended dispute windows of 180 days. PayPal offers buyer protection that allows disputes up to 180 days
This is new,all sales reversals that I had were in the first 1-2 hours after the purchase…

I think I should feel better now getting it within 6 hours. Would be pretty annoying after 6 months, consider you provided the support, too.

Yes, the dispute period varies depending on the payment card or method used. In my experience, I’ve had sales reversals happen as late as 4 or 5 months after the sale, while others occurred within a few hours. In some cases, I had already provided support, including installation services.
I believe the seller (Envato) can dispute a buyer’s claim by providing evidence, but I’m not sure how likely it is for the dispute to be successful. I assume Envato probably does dispute claims, but I’m unsure of what happens if these disputes are resolved in Envato’s favor.
Envato cannot dispute it - sales reversals are entirely beyond their control or influence and between the buyer and their bank
I’m not entirely sure, but I think there’s a process called a chargeback dispute. From what I understand, as a seller, you can challenge the claim by providing evidence to support your case. Here are some references I came across.

It’s actually possible. When the dispute goes to the seller, the bank usually gives 10-14 days to provide details about the product or the service has been delivered ( proof )
Unable to reply on time and/or without informing the bank, they just close the case in favor of their client.

Envato can dispute chargebacks but won`t do it. Too much hassle i guess. Imagine disputing every sale reversal.
