It is not a bad thing but the gap is to big, between level 6 and level 7! And about the overflow, there is a power elite author that has more than 10 WordPress items in the last month…but there are no limitations there…
Three years is right. But not three days. Two weeks. The author could be on vacation. Or be ill.
This is great news. 100% supported!
So this starts now ? If in Audiojungle now queue is 18 days, that means after 18 days we will see the result of less uploaded items ?
I agree with you. I have seen other Elite authors having a low sale with their new item.
or me this is nothing but:
. this is not quality improvement, this is hot to reduce their job
. instead of give a chance to starting authors you still want to power elite authors, they are more profitable for you
Well, yes. AJ gives preference to authors that have made them money. If you find this distasteful or are surprised by it, I don’t know what to tell you. Authors that have sold a lot of items and made a lot of money for Envato deserve to be given a different standard than the rest of us, and probably shouldn’t be limited at all.
. Elite authors getting more reach, and more fast than starting authors, of course you are happy guys, you will not have more competitors from starting authors!!!
There are many other libraries that “starting authors” can submit to in order to make income, many of which have a broader customer base. The way things are going, those sites are probably going to have to implement similar policies, though.
stupid approach to main problem on how to reduce review time, instead of hiring more reviewers you reduced the amount of uploaded items… cool, Envato rocks, the company is doing millions and they simple don’t want to hire more reviewers, i believe the management of this company is flying above the clouds,
Since you seem so knowledgable, I have a few questions:
-
How many reviewers are there? You seem to be sure that hiring more would solve the problem, so I assume you know how many there are.
-
Does increasing the number of items on AJ increase the number of sales proportionally? Meaning, if AJ approves X new items because of a new reviewer, do those items make enough sales to justify the hire? How long does it take to get to the magic number of sales to justify a new reviewer? Since you seem so confident that AJ can just hire more reviewers, I assume you know.
-
What are the rates of new authors and items on the site? Is it possible to keep up by just hiring new reviewers? I ask because you seem to know.
Look, I know its frustrating to think that this problem has an easy fix, but for composers, it doesn’t. There’s too many of use to support a market where everyone gets to “win”, and the result is that AJ is flooded-- absolutely flooded-- with music, some if it good, some of it not. Generally, I think AJ does a good job of making sure the latter is removed in the review process, but anytime there is a standard, there will always be stuff that barely makes it.
AJ needs to not only improve item quality, but item profitability. This is simply a move to pressure authors to try to increase the sales of each item, because they don’t get to flood the market with them anymore.
Its been a long time coming, and the restrictions (like these) are probably only going to get tighter.
It’s a great idea. Thanks
Ok, I have graduated from 3 Conservatories and can compose and play a song in 15-30 min, so what? Than we( me and my husband) still continue to work on composition, arrangement, sound, mixing, mastering, changing some things, adding other things. And if you care about your work and sound you won’t do it in 2 hours. Especially tracks with more instruments. However of course it is possible. I could do it in 1 hour, 10 min composing, 5 min playing and 45 min finishing
I think it depends how you consider yourself, musician or copy-past-produce maker. Both can exist). Communism could be not so bad ;-).
There not so many Elite authors who upload every week or even month. So, no worry about it, just some of them upload a lot, the others just rely on old top items.
@Korolkov , you’re probably right !
Good one. We will appreciate more if you can keep the word of reviewing WP themes in 35 days as said.
dear, you do not sound like graduating from 3 conservatories,
moreover, your post is pretty annoying, and has nothing new to add,
you are just clinging to my words, not seeing the point of it
most of the “smart” people here think that they have privatized this market,
I want to say to them, that this market is for everyone, and everyone has rights to pursue his own strategy on this market. Someone wastes weeks to do a great item, someone has his hand ready to produce multiple tracks at the same time.
But this was earlier. Now we have restrictions.
and also, answering your post, how am i considering myself. This is STOCK market, and here you dont have to be Betthoven or Tshaikovskiy to sell your product. And yes, to succeed here you HAVE to speed up the process, and constantly IMPROVE quality.
Hey, Sorry that you became so upset and annoyed by my post) . I am totally fine with you being not Beethoven. Good luck)
Sounding cool…
Cheers
In my perspective this, overall, is a good thing!
It will surely reduce the flow of uploads by overzealous new authors, who probably have not got the feel of uploading on this market yet!
But i kinda feel lost in translation, due to the fact that i belong to the so called silver league - authors between level 5-7, the ones who are not elite, but are not newbies too!
So i think that this upload option could be tweaked a bit, in order to facilitate authors like me, who are in the thousands by the way!
MY SUGGESTION - New authors - 5 files, authors with level 5-6 - 10 files and Elite authors - 15 files in the queue at any given moment!
With the pace that i am running i would probably become elite in 7-8 years which is a lot, and believe me i will do a lot of composing to get there quicker, because i do not rely ON Envato featuring me (BTW Authors who are trying to enrich the still small but probably one day turn Big niches like HIp Hop, FUNK, AMBIENT, JAZZ etc. DO DESERVE a shot at being featured too!) or participating in the Ukulele Inspiration debacle! So this limitation puts a huge obstacle infront of authors like me, who are ready to upload by the rules and understand exactly how the upload process works and what an Audiojungle song STANDART is!
And if the review process gets to 30-35 days again, which is really possible, then we could probably upload no more than 50 files a year… And that is not a good instrument in our hands to fight with the big guys (i say that with much respect and adulation of the success of Top Authors in our AudioJungle community)…
So please consider my suggestion and untie the knot a little bit for us Silver League Authors!
Thanx a lot in advance for even reading my post and best of luck to everyone!
I’m happy these changes are being made. Encouraging authors to take some extra time on their uploads isn’t a bad thing, especially when supply is so much greater than demand. And hopefully this will lead to more exposure for the tracks that do make it in to the library.
Next step should be photo verification.
I’m not sure that limits change anything. Consider this: One author who uploads every day. And currently has 30 items in queue. Well it seems on the first sight that he will be able to have only 5 items in the process, but so what? Every day the first item is reviewed he will upload new one, and so he will constantly have 5 items in the queue. Same thing actually whether one has 30 items on wait or only 5, because on the monthly basis he will have the same amount…
Good point, I was hoping for a monthly hard limit on uploads but at least this is a step in the right direction.
Yes these should be the goals, and should be already reached, but this first improvement is a good signal
