I participated in the project, paid for a month. Downloaded the theme from elements.envato.com.
Completed the project, fulfilled all the conditions, but the updates do not work.
You only need to have a permanent subscription or pay again for the current license. THIS IS ONLY A TEST! I do not need this. How can I get my payment back?
I’m not sure if you could cancel the subscription and ask refund as you have been already downloaded items from Elements and already completed the projects.
About the updates, it’s being updated on Elements again, therefor, if you need theme/plugin updates, you need to keep your subscription or you need to subscribe again in few months to check if there’s any update then you could get the items updated.
The reason is behind to avoid policy breach, you cannot download everything and have an access with a month subscription, it’s abuse of using the services.
If you don’t want to get the updates through Elements, you can purchase the original items from ThemeForest/CodeCanyon and activate the items by using “purchase codes” to enable auto updates.
I understand, thank you. I will write to support. I see that this is just an advertising trick to tie the client. It looks like misleading. I paid for the first time to study this resource, I did the work for the client for a week and now I have to provide a valid license. For reference you should never buy items for clients and always make them purchase it regardless of using elements or the main marketplaces.
Even if you give them a purchase or license code, support and updates will only ever be available to the purchasing account and cannot be transferred.
You said you have finished the project and you’re expecting life-time support/update for a monthly ~30$ payment. While the theme price starts from 39-49$ on top you have unlimited access to the plugin/themes, you shouldn’t be claiming it as “advertising trick”, it’s just an offer.
I was tempted by this. It is written everywhere about a license without support. Support is much more expensive. I would never buy this theme, but would buy a cheaper and better one. And now, after completing the work, I am faced with the fact that I will have to buy a license.
Perhaps on elements.envato you can use pictures or templates for presentations, but not themes for websites.
They shouldn’t give themes and plugins under such conditions. Thanks for the answers. Let’s not waste any more time. My opinion is that I was scammed. I will never pay them money again. Sorry.
It’s not about the $30, it’s about the principle. I read about the license after the subscription and updates ended, and I saw everywhere that I would be able to fully use the licensed positions for the project if the project was fully completed. Maybe I didn’t read all the small letters in all the corners of the documents, I can be blamed for that. Thank you. Let’s spend our time on more useful things, good luck.
