They could just say so instead of this black ops way of handling communications with the community. What’s the point of having an Author Relationships & Engagement person if we’re going to be kept in the dark about these things. And if what @WormwoodMusic reported is true, then they’re doing stuff that is in direct violation of their own terms and conditions. Why won’t Envato be honest with their community, explain what is happening in a straightforward manner, even if we won’t like the answer ?
No real dark conspiracy here. Highly likely a outreach for a particular artist or wanted style. The team member is on maternity leave so I won’t have access to all the info.
That’s okay. Thanks for the reply. I am really looking forward for that update when you have all the info.
Thanks for the update. Also we know what we have to do. Provide more different genres probably OR keep to dig the genres we are good at to make it absolutely perfect ! We have no control on this elements / invitation thing, but we can still upload tons of track, and we can still upload tons of it here on AJ. This is not pointless, there are still some customers around. Maybe with luck, we will provide the genre that’s needed. In short, let’s do this for ourselves first, and not FOR elements. Frustration is here from time to time when reading this, but let’s move on. We are get used to it at the end ! Don’t we ? Let’s keep to get better at our craft and try to reach more customers / audience with it.
Yeah, I agree. That’s why I keep saying it’s not big deal. Envato might be looking for specific styles or genre gaps (inside AND outside Envato’s authors community) and there’s nothing wrong with that. The only thing I’m questioning is that they could disclose that information to market authors so that, those who are interested, can explore and improve in those styles on demand.
But again, this went a bit further than I expected… I’d leave it at that…
Cheers everyone!
Well, I’d still love to hear an official point of view from Envato about that mysterious account you uncovered, because so far all we got is “we don’t know” and “probably this” or “probably that”. When they do find out what the deal is (if they haven’t already), I’d like to know more about it. Let’s call it a “gesture of good faith”. I believe this community really needs it after all we’ve gone through.
New authors (Oct. 2023) are arriving to Audiojungle and Elements. I guess this confirms Envato is fishing both inside and outside the platform for new music artists, despite the fact that they don’t allow new music authors in AJ, nor the existing ones applying to Elements.
Maybe they were Shutterstock authors.
And again, new Elements contributors with new accounts. Confirmed, they are reaching out authors from outside Envato I guess to fill high demand genres and nitches. Some cool vocals songs among them.
Let’s see where this Shutterstock and outsource invites lead.
Best of luck to the old gang!
So, Envato has reluctantly revealed some things about PureHits, which is probably one of the accounts you uncovered. But if I understand correctly, you’ve discovered more than one account with similar activity, sign up dates that go against Envato’s rules and instant Elements access. So, is it possible those are accounts running music for Envato in the same way as PureHits ? Or, are we being led on ?
Oh, yes. I found a few. Here’s another, but anyone can find them. Just browse Elements catalog sorting bew “New” and that’s it.
IMO, nothing that really stands out from what you can already find in Envato, but again, they’re pretty shady about what is the criteria for this irregular additions → Instant access as Elements Authors. This is what I find the most unfair.
Is this authentic? It’s a bit unfair. confusing !
I don’t know how much work I have to do. This year I loaded maybe 60 items. Maybe more.331 units sold this year alone. For the elements. I think I’m dreaming.
@WormwoodMusic That account pre-dates the Authentic Music initiative - I don’t have any notes on that one, sorry!
There have been a handful of Elements authors added from outside of Market (i.e. outbound recruitment) - in terms of music authors though, that’s been pretty much replaced by a combination of increased intake from AudioJungle and the Authentic Music content.
@KingDog This is good news; I firmly believe that authors who have good sales numbers and have actively contributed to the growth of Envato (I personally have been here for 9 years and been very active) have every right to be included in Envato Elements.
Agreed. Same here.
Yeah, I haven’t heard anything official either. Those exceptions are confusing! Here’s hoping they open up applications again soon.
I write tracks on the Envato market from morning to night, and Envato invites authors to Envato Elements from other platforms, it’s cool…
I agree.
They’re inviting new Envato authors almost on a weekly basis. The pattern I see (though I can’t be sure) is large portfolios (+500 or even 1k tracks) and good quality. You can check who’s been invited recently by searching Elements music with the “New” music items filter. So, for those of you who are still uploading at a good pace, there’s definitely a chance of receiving that email anytime.
It’s less likely for authors who, like me, basically stopped uploading music here.
The only downside I see is that Elements is ingesting +1k tracks a week and that will lead to a much more competitive environment, with probably smaller shares for authors…
