I just had 7 sales reversals...in a row

It’s not fake money… okay. Let me re-explain.

Refund a buyer requests his money back. You get notified and it appears as a Sale Refund.
Reversal something went wrong with the payment gate / fake account / fake card / fake username / appears as a sale reversal.

Makes sense now?

Not really.
I have checked one of my clients, looked around their website, and it is credible, why do they bother to do such a thing like fake accounts or whatever? I do not know. I guess I should contact them.
But we need get this situation straight.
For example buyer has fake card, once purchase made and fake card occured = sale reversal. Money on this card are fake or not?

Thank you.

A fake account has no money on it. It just tries to game the system

For me, it remains unclear following. For example, the product costs 20$, I get 10$. For example, I sold 10 products and has earned 100$. But it was bought by another purchaser once again. There are 110$ on my account. But suddenly turns out that the last sale was a “reversal sale”. I look at my account and see 90$. 10$ loss is also “fake money”?

Mate you are trying to hard to explain :stuck_out_tongue: we also had unusual large amount of sale reversal in last month compared to the whole year, now try to explain how is that possible?

And to be honest i don’t give a rats pu pu about Envato, as they do not for me/us authors. All i care is my money and reversal made for a month or more back should be on envatos backs, i do not care about back logs and there accountants and there incompetence, they backlogged everything because they are greedy and left behind everything to focus on products and features that are demolishing the current market. There is no excuse all of this is border line criminal what is going on lately, they are destroying lives!

I feel absolutely insulted with the ignorance and arrogance from envato especially when i get the same copy paste message for anything envato responds via support and we never get any relevant answers and even those non relevant answers get to us far to late, we have no means nor time to adapt. And in the end we get a response “you can always leave”

Yea that’s way envato changed all the legal terms and adapted everything from so called fees from commission system, well they sad it was always like that :D. So in this case we are the merchants and they just provide the platform. In that case what do they charge for support then, since they do not have any platform and in that case we also get a reversal for support.

BLOCK Pay-pal payment!

from last month that was processed this one. Not trying to explain, actual facts.

There was a back log [quote=“Anps, post:46, topic:69507”]

Seriously? Because you actually didn’t make a sale and a fraudulent transaction got caught, they’re destroying lives? That’s a very interesting statement to make. Would it be better if they would send you that money and then PayPal locked your account and placed you under investigation so you’d have to deal with all the fake purchases on your own? Oh, and by the way, PayPal locks the entire amount in your account, not just the cash from one sale.

Because those are the answers. That’s why you get a copy paste. Do you want a lie? Okay. Envato isn’t doing anything about sale reversals. They just don’t care. They want to bankrupt themselves by bankrupting authors. This is a lie.

Now, the truth? Envato is doing anything and everything they legally can to uphold and solve these issues, but when fraud is involved, they can only do what the payment gate decides, otherwise, they loose, and you loose. Visa / PayPal / Mastercard finds a fraudulent transaction and reverses the money from Envato, they reverse it from you, because that transaction, never existed.

I fail to see where the ignorance is, and arrogance is surely not the word you wanted to use. Arrogant would be me telling you to quit the marketplace because these are the terms and locking this thread up while muting your forum privileges.

I’m trying oh so hard to explain because, if you haven’t noticed, I’m an author too, an elite one, and getting smacked over the head with reversals hurts really bad. So I asked for as much clarification as I needed and asked all the questions you, the community, my fellow authors could ask, and now I’m answering them, without copy and paste, so I fail to see how that is arrogant.

Also, as moderators, we’re the voice of you, and the staff, we ask, we get replies, we come back to you. You ask, we ask them, then come back to you and answer back.

We’re not getting paid to be moderators, we’re not getting special treatment, we’re not getting anything except a forum title, and a nice badge, so please don’t hate me, but I’m actually insulted that you can consider us ignorant and arrogant when we’re working for free to give you all the answers we can.

And as for Envato. In a utopia, they would be able to do everything you just said and I just said, and everyone said. But Envato is international, and they have to abide by certain laws and regulations, so as much as I find something absurd in my logic or country, it may be internationally legal or illegal, therefore, Envato are obliged to do it, weather they or we like it or not.

See my point?

(PS: Don’t take this message harsh or as a rant, I’m merely stating my perspective as both an author and a moderator )

Blocking PayPal would be one of the best ways to see your sales decrease by about 60%. I don’t think anyone wants that!

I’m not against.

today I got reversal purchase 2,5 month old!!! TWO and HALF month. Tomorrow I wake up and will see - all my sales is canceled and I must back a thousands dollars. Ha! Cool!

I just explained a few moments ago, that there was a backlog. These happened 2 months ago but were not processed then, but now!

A sale reversal is not a refund! Not the same thing!

I fully understand Envato’s position with regard to cancelled payments and fraudulent purchases and how there’s nothing they can do on their end. My question was answered with regard to why it was all happening at once.

There are a few issues I’ve had with Envato over the years, but sales reversals aren’t one of them. This isn’t something they have any control over, guys.

Thank you!

MVPThemes is correct. Sadly there’s nothing we can do when PayPal makes a sales reversal. For all the information around the Sales Reversal process, please see our Help Centre.

Thanks!

But what about credit card reversals? Who issues reversal in this case? Visa/Mastercard?

From the article:

The transaction has been reversed by the payment provider through either a credit card, Paypal or Skrill account.

Hi everyone, today I found 11 “sale reversal” of one customer. I think that this is very suspicious. This buyer acquired my tracks a few months ago. How there can be problems with the payment of such a large amount of time? I think this is a real fraud and the market should protect authors from this. Damage in this case receives not only the author, and the market. In addition, people now get music without the watermark. Please Envato, do not leave this problem unattended.

Yes, I agree! This is pure fraud!
Envato, you thus kill the market. This is not the only case of return. So buyers have already learned about what can be done such machinations. And if it continues, it will grow into a large funnel of fraud on the part of buyers. Who needs such a market when one gives money for buy, and the other pulls out a coin from the machine with soda?
Envato, I beg you, do something with it !!!
