Google Analytics has ghosted me... and so has everyone else? 😅

Hey guys!

So… for the last few months, I’ve been getting absolutely zero data on Google Analytics. Like, nada. No views, no clicks, not even a single curious passerby. I thought maybe it was a glitch, but after all this time, I’m starting to wonder if my music’s gone full invisible mode! :joy:

I mean, I know I haven’t sold anything in a while (not exactly news there!), but I used to find comfort in knowing that someone, somewhere was at least listening… even if they were just skipping through the preview. Now, it’s just crickets all around! Anyone else going through this Analytics blackout? Or maybe GA decided to join the ghosts of my non-existent sales!

Any tips to resuscitate my stats (and my self-esteem)? Or just here for a laugh, fellow dreamers!

I don’t even look at Google Analytics. Why? Even if someone looks at my portfolio, nothing changes. Sales have been declining for 2 years.
It doesn’t affect sales anyway.

@Octopusic Google Analytics on items
Google analytics data has stopped coming in since September.
We have already discussed this topic.

Hey Octopusic,

This is actually a common issue that many authors are facing, and it’s likely due to Google Analytics transitioning from Universal Analytics (UA) to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Universal Analytics stopped processing data on July 1, 2023, which might explain your “blackout.”

Quick fixes to try:

  • Check if you’re still using the old UA tracking code instead of GA4
  • Verify that your GA4 property is properly set up and linked to your items
  • Double-check that your tracking code is correctly implemented on your pages

For a more accurate picture of your traffic, I’d recommend:

  • Using Envato’s built-in analytics on your portfolio page
  • Setting up GA4 if you haven’t already (it’s quite different from UA)
  • Installing a secondary analytics tool like Plausible or Matomo for comparison

Don’t let the numbers get you down too much! The analytics issue is technical, not a reflection of your music’s quality. Let me know if you need help setting up GA4 - happy to point you in the right direction. :musical_note:

@islammylove786 The problem is that the tracking code in our accounts was deleted in early September.
Even if you create a new code, there is no way to add it on our account pages.
