Ok, now that it’s out, have anyone been thinking about compatibility with your older projects? Do you think people will stop buying Element3D v1 projects as outdated? Should we all edit out old projects to make them use Element3D v2 features?
EDIT: Just saw that it’s being discussed. Ignore me.
Since e3d v1 and v2 are different, and v1 projects are not 100% compatible with e3d v2, there should be new option in submission form: e3d v2.
Please VH staff consider this update.
Buyers need to know exactly what they are buying, and whether they have required plugin, and in this case whether they have required e3d version.

eventually the items need to support the new version since new element3D users that want to use a template made in v1 don’t have the access to the first version anymore.

PS: Also if you have V1.6 projects that don’t open correctly in V2, please let us know we will fix that too! Always a good idea to let your customers know to install latest version of E3D V2 and newest GPU Drivers.

Thanks for being here, I was looking for a solution haha, there’s this Videohive project: http://videohive.net/item/devices-mockup-kit/7129058 that won’t open with Element 3D V2 (it’s obviously a v1.6) when i try to open it AE crashes with this message “After Effects error: crash occured while invoking plug-in effect Element” is there anyway to fix that ? Or should I wait for the guy who made the project to update it to V2 ?

I’m assuming you can ask videocopilot team to check the file and see what cause the crash but I’m not sure if videohive license let you share the item source files.
Regarding the author, is not sure he will even create a v2 compatible version so instead of waiting you should contact him to see what his plans are.
Can’t wait when add a support Element V2 on videohive !
