Why best rated area is for One Year ? Customer satisfaction is more worthless than 7-year old products? Customer satisfaction is not more important than everything? There is no need to test to understand this, mutual satisfaction is more important than anything. Please apply the 1-year filter to the best sellers, not to the best rated products!

This is our Lowest sales week after 4 years. Hope every thing will be normal in a month otherwise decided to leave the Envato Marketplace permanently.

New sorting with “best sellers” by default, of course, is the huge problem for most authors. Much has been written about it here. And I do not want to repeat it again.
I want to talk about search problem. Search results are VERY strange.
Imagine that I am a buyer. I created a channel on YouTube. And I need an intro for my videos. I go to the After Effects category and enter the “YouTube Intro” text into the search bar.
And what do I see on the first page? Of the 30 projects, I see only 1 project that concerns YouTube.
There are many projects on the market with the “YouTube Intro” name, or at least “YouTube Pack”, “YouTube Kit”. So why does the site show me what I don’t need: Epic book, 3D Laptop, Christmas Intro (maded in 2010), Holographic Logo, Broadcast News, etc…
I think this is not a pleasant experience for buyers when the site doesn’t show them what they need. If the buyer does not find what he needs, he will go to another market

Envato can do all these because they have Avada (and some other big fishes). What if (after Envato drives away all other authors) Avada decides to part ways with Envato and decide to sell of their own? What will Envato do then? Beg the authors who they have driven away to come back?

Is this really what you get after doing the search or did you change the sorting?
If I search for “Youtube Intro”, I get these results:
If I’m informed correctly, search results are always sort by Best Match. The changes in these thread have nothing to do with search results. As far as I know, nothing has been changed in the default order of search results.
But if you see best seller sorting for search results, they may have changed something…
Hmm. Now I see the same thing as you. Very strange
Looks like before you searched for “Youtube Intro”, you changed sorting.
If you try to do:
- Search something, for example “logo”.
- Then change sorting to best sellers
- Now search for “Youtube Intro”.
You will get best sellers sorting as a result. It was always that way.

I don’t think this is the way it should behave. I just tried going to a Category page and changing it to Newest items. Then I searched for something (for the first time). It showed me newest items instead of best match.
I don’t think if users set their sorting preference in the category page they also prefer that over best match when they do a search…
Maybe @jamesgiroux can tell us if that is in fact the intended behaviour?
Searches should always show best match I thought, or at least only show something else when I set a search result to a different sorting before.

I didn’t know about storing sort preference too, But it seems to me like a real UX challenge

This week, I see from the popular list. the sales from the popular items come back to normal. Is there still 5% increased? Why do you want to kill the new items? Is there any plan to get the sorting back cause we have some items ready for sell. We’re still waiting this disaster moment over then we can have plan for the next items. Please read all comments here and listen to us. There are no one vote for this situation even some of best sellers here. Everyone want to have the newest items in the default sorting. You can see the newest items can’t have any sale. That means we will throw our effort to the Trash if we decide to publish the new items now.

Mostly, because of Avada’s drop (~1.1k). As I can see this happened after price change (from 39$ discount back to 60$).
When Envato do experiment, Avadar saleoff at $39, that is the reason its sale reached 5k1 that week (Maybe 5% increased come from here), then 3k1 after 1 week, and now it comes back to around 2k like it was. Nothing changed with the Top items.

I agree. For customers, it is annoying to see the same products all the time. Many customers do not use drop-down menu options, which means they never see new products. But honestly, how this market is going to evolve as new products are hidden?
