Any chance of income for the new authors?

I did some calculations according to this link here: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472943-Introduction-to-Earnings

Let’s assume an author lives in a 10% tax country, has a full new account, and uploads an item on the CodeCanyon / WordPress category. Make it a very fair purchase price of $19 for users.

  • $5 is the category fee, remaining $14.
  • $1.4 is 10% tax withheld, remaining $12.6
  • $4.73 is 37.5% author fee, and the remaining $7.87 (0 sales, 0 income, and started with an exclusive author)

~ $8 is the earnings from a $19 item. ~60% is cut off. How will new authors survive? Correct me if I’m wrong.

You forgot to add US tax withhold if the buyer is from USA.
You’re too late to become an author at Envato. Find something else.

According to this table, United States is 5% , is there something exceptional for that country? And Brazil is not in the list, possible 30% cut for that country too.

Also there is another big problem! Envato focused on the Elements and all items will include to it soon and users have access to all envato items just with $16. It is too late bro to join Envato authors. We are concern about ourself.
