WordPress plugin got rejection email in less than 10 minutes!

Hi everyone,

After my plugin was hard rejected, I reviewed the issues and submitted it to WordPress.org. Through this process, I identified a few potential reasons for the rejection:

  • Poor code quality, errors, and security issues. This became evident after going through the review process by the WordPress team and using various plugin inspection tools. It showed me that my product wasn’t truly ready for sale in terms of quality. At this point, in addition to the support documentation from Envato, I suggest everyone use Plugin Check to review their code before submitting.

  • The above reason could also be a common cause for hard rejections in general. It is possible that Envato applies an automated pre-screening process for PHP code (either WordPress-specific or core PHP). Only plugins that meet certain standards might get manually reviewed by an actual reviewer. I assume this because, in just 10 minutes (or even longer), it would be difficult for reviewers to thoroughly check all features and source code of a product.

I am sharing this experience to provide insights for fellow authors and developers who are struggling to get their products accepted on Envato. Hopefully, this information helps, and those facing similar issues can get their plugins approved sooner.

As a developer working extensively with WordPress plugins and themes, I believe you will find its features useful for plugin & theme development and WordPress site management.

Warm regards,
