It was my first-time item submission to CodeCanyon. Here’s a preview: https://translate.quicknode.net
Is it because of the design? If so, I would think a soft reject would have been done instead. A PHP item is mostly about the back-end, and any design shortcomings could be improved.
Is it because there are similar free items available online? Maybe, but source code - not necessarily.
So why not a soft reject? Or why not give the reason and discourage authors?
There’re free items ( Google ) . Why anyone would pay for the script?
Thanks for your answer. I thought they would pay not for the service, but for the source code which they could then use for their own project, etc. Isn’t that the idea of CodeCanyon? This is apparently different from Google because it offers what Google doesn’t offer (simultaneous translation to multiple languages). That said, there are plenty of scripts sold on CodeCanyon that have free alternatives.
I would appreciate your clarification as I’m really confused.
CodeCanyon might have hard-rejected your item for several reasons, including design quality, lack of unique features, or not meeting marketplace standards. While backend functionality is crucial, CodeCanyon expects a minimum design standard even for PHP items. They may also reject items if similar free alternatives exist or if the code quality doesn’t meet their guidelines. Unfortunately, CodeCanyon does not always provide specific feedback to avoid overwhelming their review team and to encourage authors to thoroughly review and improve their submissions independently.
Thank you for your message, let me address the points you mentioned. I’ve received feedback from several users, and they were all quite satisfied with the design. How is the simultaneous multi-language translation not a unique feature in itself? The back-end code that I wrote corresponds to best practices described in the famous book Clean Code by R.C. Martin, so it’s actually quite good.
A hard reject means that it’s not possible to resubmit the item, no matter how much you improve it, right? At least that’s what follows from Envato’s pages. They do provide feedback for soft rejects, so hard rejects mean they won’t accept the item no matter what, just because, that’s why there’s no feedback. How can I then improve it for Envato if it will never be accepted no matter what I do?
CodeCanyon is for something you cannot get the service for free or if it’s expensive to use additional services.
No point to invent the fire again. You’d be still getting the rejection as this item won’t get approve at CC. Find some better idea.
It doesn’t do anything on mobile. Google Translate does.
It does, there was a temporary issue.
I’ve seen such PHP items as authentication modules with login and password on CodeCanyon. Can’t one actually get that kind of service for free? That’s quite misleading because I’d been browsing through many items on CodeCanyon and that was the idea I got.
And where can you get translation into several languages at once for free? Google Translate doesn’t do that.
