Attention developers! The Codecanyon review team has become increasingly strict with new PHP submissions, frequently rejecting items under the pretext of “code quality.” Given this trend, it’s important to carefully evaluate the time and effort spent on developing PHP-based products for sale on the platform.
If a third party has not previously reviewed your product for code quality and best practices, there is a high risk of rejection. To avoid unnecessary effort and potential setbacks, consider alternative marketplaces or ensure your code meets the highest industry standards before submission.
Ensuring the highest standards makes a lot of sense but when it comes to other marketplaces - often the standards are not as high as for items being sold on Envato, and if you start submitting items elsewhere then you need to make sure your account is non-exclusive or else there’s zero chance of being approved here also.
Atleast reason need to provided. Script was rejected due to code standard or any other reason.
That’s exactly why they have soft and hard rejections…
Soft / the author has demonstrated skills and understanding close to the standard hence it’s worth providing feedback to get it over the line.
Hard / seen as too far away and providing feedback will a) take more time and b) is unlikely to be able to be correctly interpreted
Giving feedback to all (of course there are some exceptions) will only lead to further delays, and frustration if people think they’ve resolved the feedback but get rejected again.
