I purchased a theme a few months ago and noticed that a newer version has been released with some great new features. Is there a way to get notifications when my purchased theme gets updated? Or should I manually check the author’s profile for updates?
If you purchased a theme through the marketplace, then you should get notifications by email when a theme or template is updated and released by the author.
Login to your control panel, go to downloads, and make sure the box is checked which says: Get notified by email if this item is updated

Authors can choose to notify buyers when an update is approved by selecting an option on the upload page. If they choose to notify, you’ll get an email.
To make sure you receive these emails, check if “Item update notifications” are turned on in your Envato email settings. Simply replace “username” in the link with your own username and open it in your browser: https://themeforest.net/user/username/email_settings
