After being freaked out with this SALE REVERSAL fruadulent activity and writing to Envato, I came across that most of good authors are victim of this ongoing activity, which is really strange and untolerable.
We are a game company and have producing entirely unique games, for which we actually have to spend dollars and much time to get our items published on Envato and what some buyers do is - they purchase an item, download the files, use them and make a sale reversal marking as ‘fraud payment’ which is truly insane. And even after, they use our items!
I truly appreciate your initiatve @luliyaL to make associaiton and fight for our right. And along with all authors who have joined this, including me would want to get some solution for this real soon.
I am with your created hastags #ProtectAuthors and get some compensation for this happening and bring out a solid solution that this Stealing Act should not continue more.
I hope ENVATO will help all of us and find a way out for some relaxtion to all of us.
Envato already tries very hard to prevent these reversals. Countless buyers are blocked each day, many of whom are legitimate, for any small flag that may suggest potential fraud. You’ve probably lost (real) sales because of this, do you want them to go further?
I would recommend reading up on this thread where I go quite deep into the situation, starting with this comparison to purchasing physical products:
I got my first sale reversal. I am surprised by the lack of info. I would at the very lease like to know the reason? Now this person has my project that took weeks for free. Can duplicate package and sell. If there was a legit reason, then I should know, so I can correct the issue. Thanks for having our back Envato.
I hope Shutterstock does something to reduce the issue of reversals. Have about 140 sales on P5, never had reversal also not heard about so frequent reversals on their forum.
They immediately block the account and access to the item downloads - appreciate it’s too late if they’ve already downloaded it but it’s the most that envato can control.
understood… thanks
However I sell on other platforms where they offer no refunds.
Especially when they’ve bought and can’t return a digital product.
I can see if they went through Envato channels for a poor product.
