Request for Assistance: Unfair Support Practices by Plugin Developer on Envato Platform

Hello Envato Support Team,

I am reaching out to address a serious issue I have encountered with the plugin I purchased through your platform [Recruitly Addons: Recruitment or Job listing plugin or addon for Elementor of WordPress.]. I have experienced multiple disruptions due to the developer’s actions, where my plugin has repeatedly been disabled without any fault or unauthorized usage on my part. This is causing ongoing issues on my live site and disrupting my business operations.

When I attempted to resolve the matter directly with the developer, I encountered considerable pushback and an insistence that I renew support, despite this being an error originating from their system’s detection and not from any action on my end. The developer’s approach seems to systematically pressure customers into purchasing unnecessary support by leveraging such errors, which is unprofessional and feels exploitative.

As a longtime customer who has made numerous purchases through Envato, this experience is both unexpected and disappointing. I urge you to review this case, as it reflects poorly on the standards I have come to expect from Envato. I believe Envato has a responsibility to prevent such situations, ensuring that developers offer fair support and do not engage in practices that border on exploitation.

Please assist me in addressing this matter fairly and preventing similar experiences for other users in the future.

Thank you for your attention and understanding,
Shachar

I’m sorry to hear about what you’re going through.

Are you using the plugin on multiple websites with the same license code?

@charlie4282 Yes, before commenting, I reviewed the buyer’s recent and past comments on the item page, which is why I asked if they are using the same license code on multiple sites.

@shagasi Using the same license code on multiple sites goes against Envato’s licensing policy. Authors might add features to detect this. According to the author, this issue isn’t about item support, but about using the same license code on different sites. The author also suggested contacting their support team to solve the issue.
