Photos rejected with incorrect reason

I cannot understand how photos taken on a DSLR with good quality can be rejected. The reason given is ‘composition and lighting,’ but both are very good in my photos. Who is making this decision? One of my food photography photos was also rejected. I feel that whoever is making these decisions does not really understand photography, even food photography.

It’s difficult to say without seeing the photos but I’d recommend following the Review team’s advice. I know it’s difficult to be subjective with our work but the Review team has the best understanding of the current standards as well as how saturated a particular item category is.

We all get composition/lighting rejections all the time. It really is generic for “we have decided it’s not what we are looking for on Envato.” It doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with it or it isn’t an excellent image. I’ve had several rejected here that are excellent sellers other places. Don’t take it personally.
