New Forum is Good or Not?

Yes, it is the constant clicking on “keep your settings” and reducing the reply bar, that is getting to me.

Old forum, click on Item Discussion, then scroll down to see if anyone needs help, after visiting GR’s section of the forum.

New one, click on Feedback, (or whatever it is called) get rid of the keep settings, thing, (because l visited another part of the forum first) reduce the reply bar, then scroll down, (well, click on the graphics tab, then scroll down)! :weary:

I won’t be coming here as often as l used to, and l will probably get more emails from newbies, that can’t get a reply?

I visited the old forum everyday and now I visit it once in a week… I understand why envato do this but for me it’s a mess and I don’t understand I feel lost…

I’m trying to write an answer to any post for two weeks and all I managed to get is the - error … so I don’t like it , It’s a total mess, confusion on all sides, in the old forum was a pleasure to read and participate in it . :persevere:

I have to admit I had the idea to start a similar thread the first day it came into place, but I left the opportunity for other members to speak out. While I appreciate the struggle to maintain and develop on the community’s interest, here’s my first view impressions, with both good and bad:

  • inconsistent typography: the titles have no hierarchical value, the posts list page looks like a bunch of text with icons here and there
  • interesting new and surely valuable new tools such as post auto save draft, topic/post preview, AJAX infinite load, more topic/post meta, also some nice new in-page tools, etc
  • I would have opted for a “Similar topics” along/instead of “Suggested Topics” but maybe that’s just me, I don’t quite get the context on how the topic relates/connects to it’s other suggested topics
  • I think the new platform is a a good start though, it could provide needed tools just as @hogash described

This is generally what I would do if I were designing for the new Envato Forums.

And if you click on Graphics, it stays stuck, regardless!

That would be a big step up!

:sunglasses:

Why on Earth would you want to bring together all the different marketplaces? What does ThemeForest (that is basically WordForest) have in common with let’s say AudioJungle? Totally different kind of customers and authors. I don’t want to know anything that happens on AudioJungle.

Cool features, but the UI is terrible…

I don’t like this new forum, it’s really not useful :weary:

It’s disorganized and disorienting compared to–well every other forum software I’ve used.

Like this? It’s a mess. With a good foundation of functions and tools. I would like to see major categories for each Marketplace. These is nothing wrong with one universal forum. But heck, my guess is, people read less in the forums. Why? Because you can hardly find something which is of your interest quickly enough.

I want categories for each marketplace. And sub categories in each of those. But keep one universal forum.

it is look good !

Overloaded details, but I appreciated some improvements.

I’m seeing more mentions from users about the missing links to the marketplaces up top, but it seems like they’re gone for good… :\

Is there any chance of an answer from staff as to why they aren’t there? It seems so strange to implement the new forum without the marketplace buttons that I’d really like to understand this decision, just out of curiosity, as I’m sure would other users.

No, that’s not in their Roadmap.

Regarding Forums

During beta phase, I thought they will rework on the forum design and make it look very user friendly and intuitive from design point of view as the functionality(features) was already awesome. But, they released it as is by just adding new categories.

It feels we are on Discourse official forums not Envato’s.

I feel lost here… where am I?
Most annoying for me is that I don’t want to see posts from all marketplaces, I want to see graphicriver posts only.
