I have been putting a lot of work for the past year to build my YouTube channel. Main goal: To promote my tracks on AJ and sell more. I know you all want the same, right? So, post here the link to your YouTube channel and let’s subscribe to each other’s channels and as often as we can let’s like and comment on videos that we honestly and genuinely like. I believe we should be helping each other more in order to gain more exposure on YouTube.
After doing some study on how my links are doing (via bitly and impact affiliate) I can confirm that my sales have increased by around 30% since I started promoting on YT.
So, let’s get started. Here is the link to my channel:
Hey @ShymonMusic, thank you so much for sharing the link! How cool! WIX is using one of my funk tracks! I will check your channel now! Thank you very much again! I wish you all the best!
Keep in mind that “sub for sub” is a violation of YouTube’s policies and can hurt your channel. If people are not actually watching your videos and increasing your “watch time”, it doesn’t help your YouTube standing in the search engine and can push you farther down if they suspect spam subscribers. If continued, your channel can be terminated for policy violations.
Thank you very much for your post and for the warning.
I am aware of the “sub for sub” trend nowadays. It is every where Youtube, Instagram, Soundcloud, you name it…However, I would like to make it very clear that this is NOT what I had in mind when I opened this thread. I genuinely think that by subscribing to each other’s channel and actually watching what others are doing and being really honest on your comments is a very good way to: 1) get better in what you do by learning from other composers 2) help others grow (and indirectly yourself too) as other people will want to comment and watch our videos knowing that we watched theirs and 3) we can indeed become friends. I have been in contact with quite a few AJ composers now via email. We talk about everything and not just music and AJ, but traveling, holiday, studio gear, family, etc…I must say…our day-to-day job is quite lonely and it does feel good to make friends around the world.
Of course, I don’t have time to watch and comment on every video other composers post, but I do try to do it as often as I can.
So, to conclude: I honestly see no violation of YT rules at all. This is an honest initiative for everyone to grow and to make new friends. That’s all.
