I honestly don’t know how Envato’s policy works, but I believe there should be some kind of security for those who buy. See, I have the following purchases removed:

Go Green - Environmental WordPress Theme
Scrapes - Automatic web content crawler and auto post plugin for WordPress
Modern Events Calendar - Responsive Event Scheduler & Booking For WordPress
Cooked Classic - A Powerful Recipe Plugin for WordPress
Total Donations for Wordpress

That gives nearly $ 200 in thrown away purchase! And I have no refund or credit.

It’s an unfortunate risk that we take as buyers(we’ve bought over 1000 items and around 30% have been removed) given the price we are paying.

Envato can’t control this (hence they do encourage buyers to download items ASAP) as they don’t own the copyright to items. It’s viscous circle given that if they did create the items themselves then there would be nowhere near the quality or quantity of items that there are.
