I have a feeling Market is not meant to survive the ShutterStock take over. That would explain why they don’t plan on doing a make over there as well.
Yep. People who copy paste their projects will won over people who create quality projects. Envato team has no heart and just blindly follows quick short money flows.
And the buyers will also suffer in terms of quality and creativity of projects, it will be like photoshop projects in 2000s - cheap and pretty much the same.
sad to see a plea which nobody will care about. Envato has a team who only cares about short-term revenues. I wouldn’t be surprised if their dream/inspiration is Canva without understanding the Envato was fundamentally different. And they abuse their monopoly as any revenue based company would, people who cared about the product are loooooong gone from envato, the people are there just to earn money and get a promotion.
@BenLeong @collis - to rejuvenate the Themeforest authors and enhance their engagement, an annual subscription model for each item should be implemented. WooCommerce’s success illustrates this approach; they offer all add-ons in their marketplace with an annual subscription, driving continuous growth of revenue. Only this shift can motivate Themeforest authors to invest more time and money in their products, aligning with the trend towards subscription-based models seen across various marketplaces, including the App Store and Google Play. I would be happy to arrange a call with your C-level managers to discuss my ideas on how to restore sales on Themeforest.
You’re right. The surprised thing is no Envato Employees care about this problem even they see it clearly. They never think that one day, Envato close some big Marketplaces like Themeforest or Codecanyon …, keep Element without the quality products. They will scale down the people, and of course Envato Employees will be lost the job. Remember authors create product, and earn money for all. Moreover, I don’t understand why SS buy Envato, then continue go on the old way which caused Envato today. I don’t want to teach the Billionaires, but seem like they are adviced by the wrong people. Even a child can understand that the Marketplace can only alive if they have more new Items. Apple, Samsung, Toy, Tesla .etc, any big brands are always trying to create the new thing that can help them to lead this World. How the hell a creative place like this ignore the New Items, even they don’t need new Items. Who can explain me this? This made me MAD. I don’t understand.
It’s a great proposal StylemixThemes for subscribing for each item, but on Elements not the Market :). Please keep the market as it is till the trial success on elements or an alternative model.
All we want is, please have a good place for new Items. That will help you to have the trending items, and more talented authors. That will help your Marketplace come back. Stop promote the outdate items, stop funds to the small group authors and focus on helping your overall community. You will be back soon.
I love it
LOL, after so many years and long awaited improvements, what a major investment for the Market - logo change, this is huge, don’t forget to celebrate it! Your message was loud and clear, envato’s focus going forward is only Elements, as it was past several years.
Correct
Is there a way to call a SS manager so he can see our concerns? I see a lot of authors here have raised the opinion but no one care. This is still the old culture. I hope there are something new when SS come. Event bad news but I believe there will be nothing worser than this situation. Come on guys.
Impressive, what we needed most was a new logo.
All I can see in this forum is only the announcement from Envato, there is not anything they hear back from the authors. This should be not called as a forum where to discuss and grow up together. This place should be called as an announcement table, where we receive the Envato information. I think Envato should close all of threads like this. And just allow the Employees to post their announcement.
Currently after you search, you cannot scroll, it doesn’t work, using chrome, seeing as there is literally no way to contact envato directly I have to put it in a reply and hope its seen, not exactly the best way to report on bugs to a brand new system! get it together guys, as a company we will need to contact you directly sometimes, removing this is quite frustrating
Hi all. I realise that this update is not what some authors, particularly those focused on selling web and code via Envato Market, wanted to hear.
(I also realise that I seem to always write much longer forum comments than I set out to, so apologies for this one getting long!)
Yes, the main changes to our onsite visual identity, modernized UI and UX enhancements will be applied only to Envato Elements at this stage. This reflects our current focus as a company on further strengthening our creative subscription product. Focus implies that some areas take priority: it is not possible to focus on everything at once. Currently, most of our resources are allocated to Elements, based on an assessment of current and future customer needs, and the decisions that have been made about how to address these.
That does not mean that Author concerns about Market are not being heard, or passed on to our Product teams. It does mean that priority is based on investigation and assessment of the impact, cost and value of each project, including the opportunity cost of assigning resources. Prioritization also does not mean “X is important, Y is not.” Both may well be important, but one is prioritized higher for immediate work.
Discussions in these forums tend to be heavily focused on content and the production and sale of individual items, for a good reason: most of the long-term members here are authors who produce and sell those items. That’s been the case since the beginning of Envato Market. But at a company level, customers must be the focus: without constant growth and retention of the customer base, there would be no source of income for either authors or Envato. Right now, the biggest long-term opportunity for customer growth across all of the creative stock categories (video, audio, graphics, photos and 3D) is through Elements, which is why we’re putting our resources behind it.
We continue to maintain the Envato Market sites, but we have no immediate plans to change the UX on those sites as part of this month’s brand rollout.
@johnmc65 Thanks for reporting that! I have not been able to replicate it here, but I’ll raise it with the UX team. As a first step, please check that you’re running the current version of your browser, as that has resolved most of the reported issues so far.
If you have the green banner visible at the top of the Elements page, it should have a link to a feedback form. If you’ve already dismissed that banner, the best method for reporting bugs is to open a support ticket: https://help.elements.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
That way, the team can follow up directly if they need more information. The more detail you can provide in your ticket, the better - browser / version / steps to replicate, and any screenshots that show what you’re seeing.
Hello @BenLeong,
We have one more question. Will Envato be managing only “Elements” in the future? Are there any plans to discontinue “marketplaces” such as ThemeForest and CodeCanyon? We focus solely on marketplaces and prefer not to work with “Elements.” It seems that Envato gets high profits with “Elements” but not enough profit from “ThemeForest and CodeCanyon.” However, we believe that authors get high profits only with marketplaces.
Thank you!
Hi @SPRUKO. Both - we’re continuing to operate the subscription and marketplaces, but the subscription currently has most of our current development resources behind it for the addition of new features.
I dont have access to the new design yet but any changes at this point are better than do nothing.
My concern is that elements earnings are keep going down and i noticed that only new items get licenced at most but even they dont bring much momey. Older items are not selling well at all.
Elements needs huge increase in customers or increase the price for subscription.(or even merge clients base with Shuterstock).
And i am wondering if we can have statistics of active elements subscribers to monitor improvements of Envato actions and reflect on ours (authors fault to deliver the content of demand). Something like month or quarter statistics of increased or decreased overall Elements subscribers.
It was easier to analyze within the market because we had visible access of number of sales during days, weeks and month. Elements, however is blind area for authors with less data and transparency.
Right now Envato and Shutterstock has to rebuild trust with authors.
Can you tell me, if it’s not a secret. Update the elements interface, it was your idea or you already working with Shutterstock? I just want to assess future prospects of the Market.
