I have installed clean copies of wordpress multiple times on my server and have then installed the theme called smatbox having downloaded the files 3 times to ensure no corruption.
I have installed the theme using wordpress and using FTP to ensure that the files are correclty there.
On activation it does not show a smatbox banner as it should at the top as per the guide.

I also installed all the samle information as well to be sure.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Looks like you have not set it up fully.
No theme will look like the demo until you have installed the demo content and applied the correct nav, front page etc

you have to import demo to look like the demo preview of the theme author demo site. Please check theme documentation hope will get proper help there.
Otherwise the best way to get the support is Contact your purchased theme Author. How to Contact Author and let them know because Item Author are best expert about their theme functionality. Don’t worry just contact Author. Author will be very happy to assist you.
