You need to find the dummy content XML file in the download (assuming there is one). Search the folder for “.xml”.
If you cant find it then email the author.

Once you have it in WP admin got to “Tools”>>“Import”>>“Wordpress”>>“Install and import” (u need to add the tool initially). Then select the xml file and import it - you will be prompted to assign the posts etc and need to do this to your user and SELECT “import all files…” (cant remember the exact phrase) under this drop down.

  1. Log into that blog as an administrator.
  2. Go to Tools: Import in the blog’s admin panels.
  3. Choose “WordPress” from the list.
  4. Upload this xml file that provide with the theme using the form provided on that page.
  5. You will be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user.
  6. You will then have the choice to import attachments, so click on the “Download and import file attachments” box.
  7. WordPress will import each of the posts, comments, and categories into your blog.

i uploaded the .xml file ,allowed for attachment but the web site was not like that in demo and the pics wont load pleas help iam running short of time).

If the images in the demo are great they have probably been bought by the author and will NOT be redistributed within an XML file due to licensing issues. You will upload your own images anyways, won’t you?

Also, uploading the demo content will – obviously – only upload demo content, not set up your site. You will have to go through the documentation and build your own site. That’s how WordPress works, only very few authors deliver a complete one-click-setup.

as Mazoor said if the author does not own the photos then they may not be included in which case the “image areas” will be blank coloured boxes. Also if the XML was uploaded correctly the the text at least would be in the same place as the demo

thanx for the reply but only the blog page appear and with no pics the home page don’t appear and no footer??? and rely iwant the pics i dont have time to look for new one ,and one of the users for the care theme posted the web site with the same pics on demo :crying:

Put a link to your site here so we can see what is going on with the blog pages etc and images.
That all sounds like the XML did not upload properly. Did you get the message “all done now have fun!” after wards with no warnings?

If the site did not come with the images then they are probably copyrighted and even if someone else is using them it is still illegal to do so.

I do not want to use the images but just get the architect of it looking like something. I plan to replace everything.

i bought a them yesterday the theme name is flavor a one page theme, but when trying to upload the dummy content i got so many errors b4 i saw the have fun message. please what can i do?
