I need some advice.
No matter how I try export my thumbnails they always look terrible.
I’ve used both Illustrator and Photoshop with no luck.
If I try to export it with anything more than 72ppi then the dimensions of the image change.
Is it possible to export a 80px by 80px with a 300ppi?
I have honestly tried everything I can think of.
Here is an example of what it looks like -

Hi @Designs_By_Dani, and welcome!
There’s no difference between PPI/DPI values when exporting for digital screens, setting that higher or lower than 72 only affects the working file size and the scaling of objects when working in the file. In the examples I attached, the 300DPI text is set to 4.5 pt, the 72DPI text is set to 19 pt, and the 1DPI text is set to 1371 pt. So basically for consistency and ease of use, always stick with 72DPI when making something for digital uses.

In terms of making the thumbnails higher quality, you could try being a bit more creative with them. It should represent your item, but it doesn’t just have to be a small preview of it. For example, you could use only the parrot illustration scaled up a bit with maybe a subtle background colour/texture, so viewers can still get a good idea about what it is, and then see the full preview when they click on it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ll definitely work on making my thumbnails more interesting.
