Can someone help me, I bought a theme for my shopify store but the theme could not be uploaded and the message that came up was "zip does not contain a valid theme: missing template “layout/theme.liquid”
Please did anyone know what I need to do?

Seems that you are uploading wrong .zip file. You should unzip package you downloaded from themeforest/elements and you will find another .zip in it, which should be called like your THEM-NAME.zip. Please try to install that .zip
