First of all, I like this company and your products very much. I just purchased my umpteenth plug-in from you for my website designer because he said we needed it.
Here’s my feedback: the plug-in was advertised as costing $20 but then, when I get to check-out the price has jumped to $23 because there is now a “handling fee” added on.

This happens too often when I buy from you. And when it does, there is a moment when I am pissed off at Envato. Why not just tell me that the price is $23 to begin with? I would still buy it. Happily. Instead I feel this is a cheap trick played on me when I’ve already committed to your product.

Simply put, this is a lousy customer experience. Just be honest from the start! What are you afraid of in showing what the actual price will be?

You do everything else so well, why muck up this one, simple thing?

It’s not necessarily that simple - the handling fee only applies to orders of a certain value. above a certain threshold it is not applied.

The marketplace is not able to know what else someone is/is not buying and to adapt the cost based on that.

It’s like the local taxes - it’s not possible for these extra charges to be added until a certain point in the purchase.

For what it’s worth - almost all marketplaces charge this too, they are just not as transparent as envato about it.
