Finally registering my portfolio on Identifyy...

Adrev April earnings, right? Most authors here use Identifyy, so I am clarifying this

Has April already come out on identify? I still don’t see anything

Yes, correct.

Sorry for the confusion. I use AdRev, and they are usually a month ahead.

I’m asking users who use Identifyy: did the count skip on the 15th of this month. Do you know approximately when it will be released?

Nobody knows.

Slightly better than my previous months.

I watched 3 videos. One from my channel again, and then I watched 2 other videos where my music was actually used. I still haven’t earned anything, but at least they showed me the first 2 videos where my music was used! Maybe the system is a bit slow at the beginning? Anyway, I’m hopeful.

Best month so far.
One video caused it, a nice monthly salary! Very happy now.
So there is hope with CID!

Question: If you have a slightly alternative version of a registered song should you upload it separately as well?
I played piano over a song of mine and uploaded it and don’t want those views to go nowhere.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Upload new version only if a change is big enough to confuse the fingerprinting algorhythm.

If you add a secondary piano to the track - imho you don’t need to.

If you play a solo piano cover - you should upload.

If you add a new section with long part of leading piano - it depends on how long this section is, how complex, specific and audible is the “background” and does it exist in a previously uploaded version.

Congratulations! Yes, CID is one of the best things we have as musicians right now.

Was it a “standard stock track” or one of your more unique tracks that did so well?

Thanks for the insight, that makes sense indeed. I think for now I’ll just keep the original and hope the system will detect the new version too.

Thanks yes it was essentially a stock track but I liked it a lot so I released it independently too.
Then it somehow organically started to get a lot of views on YouTube (not on Spotify or Apple). And that caused a lot of people to use it in their videos. Then one video really got a lot of views.
Pretty cool how it happened but unexpected and hard to replicate. A lot of luck haha.

Hey @CWMusic!

May I ask exactly in what consists “realising a track indepently”? Did you bypassed the stock libraries and uploaded it to Spotify, YT, personal website or Bandcamp, i.e.?

Never did it so this is a completely unexplored ground for me. Also, if I’m not mistaken, you could upload it to Envato as well as the exclusivity agreement doesn’t cover listening-only platforms.

Anyway, I’d truly appreciate any info you can share on independent realising.

Thanks in advance and congrats on the Jackpot! :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes I uploaded it here as well so yes I just released it independently as well as here and on P5 etc.
I don’t do it with every track only sometimes.

Thanks and good luck too!

Thanks man! So have you also published it on Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms?

Totally understand if you’d rather not share that info, but thanks again anyway!

Cheers!

Yes almost everywhere! Also Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer and Apple. On those platforms this one is not so popular. Now I’m a fan of YouTube therefor haha.
Here it’s also not popular only one sale but o YouTube I think it’s used in multiple shorts and videos.
I think what happened is that people liked it and it ended up in good playlists. Just one of those times I got fortunate.
You sometimes hear similar stories on Spotify.
With my band we had success on Spotify because of editorial playlists so that’s cool when that happens.

I wish I could just replicate tje formula but I can’t haha but that also makes it exciting. Just keeping grinding at making the best music possible and hope for the best.

Awesome! Thanks so much for your generosity!

I definitely need to give a try to those outlets. Been willing to do it for a looooooong time now but never found the time.

Thx again and congrats!

Hi, @lucafrancini , could you please tell how did you develop/promote your spotify? I mean how did you get your music into those playlists? Because you have really good numbers
