I purchased the themeforest template a bout a year ago and now I have a new WordPress website that I would like to install it on but I constantly get an error!!! (the template is only used in my website, one website). What can be the reason for this? The error is as follow:
“Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin installation failed.”
I re-downloaded the Zip file recently from my account and I don’t think it has a problem!
Also I have a brand new host and WordPress installed.
Seems to me you are trying to install a theme not a plugin. and you are trying to install here:
Plugins => Add New
where you should to install (Installable WP file only) from here:
Appearance => Themes => Add New
You have to install the theme zip not the full download zip. Please unzip the main full download (All files & documentation) and then locate the installable theme file within it. Luckily most developers clearly label their files, so it should be pretty easy to find.
Another way go to Your download page Downloads. You can download ‘Installable WordPress file only’ from there and install from wp-admin.
