I came to this thread looking for an explanation of the difference between HTML and Wordpress themes, mainly because, although I thought that I knew the difference already, I was looking at an ‘HTML’ theme’s Live Preview, and the pages were filled with Wordpress references.
Maybe it’s also confusing because of the name themeforest, maybe people think it’s a marketplace for WordPress themes…And sebrame is right, demo content like that is also very confusing
Thanks for the info. Respectfully, WordPress does use TEMPLATES where you can create a page with distinct characteristics. Thus, the clarification that this template file that you sell can be used as a Web site unto itself and given its own URL would be helpful.
I always click the WordPress option and template files can be viewed here. Just a suggestion.
Kind regards.
Susan
Can Wordpress theme be used with non-wordpress website? For example, I have a custom-built cms but would like to use wordpress theme listed on themeforest. Is that possible or it will take a lot of modification?
ile85 saidNo. Not likely anyway. As the name says WordPress theme. It's developed to the WordPress codex. If you need something for a custom build CMS a better alternative to purchase would be a html template I think. At least I think it is and am not even 100% sure on that. But from all CMS's I know about HTML can be converted into that CMS.Can Wordpress theme be used with non-wordpress website?
