Changes To How Authors Receive Earnings Payouts From Envato

Earnings is a main reason why we upload items to Envato. If we can’t properly reach our money, there will be no reason to stay anymore. Even huge audience of Envato will not help. We will delete files and go away, there are tons similar sites waiting.
So many authors are not from USA. We have different laws. And it’s stupid thing when you must fit USA law and Envato politics to your local law to make your money legal.

UPD: For example if you do something super legal in USA, but not in countries of the former Soviet Union. And authors from this countries will not get their money… Thousands of authors will leave this place, hundred of thousands files will be deleted. Since now we have no choice, because we can’t even change country living.

Wow, this is one of THE WORST changes you’ve ever made. You just have to look to the overwhelming negative reactions. Don’t you realize that a huge portion of the market consists of teams and partnerships?? When you previously announced this the backlash was huge and you guys promised to find a solution for partnerships earnings splitting, but there’s not a single mention about this in the announcement. The “You Do Creative, We’ll Do the Rest” slogan is a really fat lie, with all the tax changes, the refund management, the absurdly long review times, and now this. All this changes give authors only headaches and new problems, not solutions.
We’d like to know what you guys are going to do to not destroy all current partnerships/teams. Can you not at least implement a 2/3 limit on accounts you can withdraw a month? or another partnership tool?

This is bad news. If there are partners, there will now be a problem for them to pay. We will have to part with some partners.

No, it’ll be the full amount of $125 that is withdrawn.

  1. I don’t think there’s any changes to people’s ability to change their payout method, as long as it’s their account. Questions might be asked if you’re changing it every month, but if you can’t use Paypal for whatever reason… just change it to something else.

  2. Good question!

Exactly the same thing will happen as it would if this change hadn’t been implemented. If your Paypal account won’t accept incoming transfers, then the amount will be sent back to your Envato account. If anything does happen to your Paypal account then change your payment method to a different one.

Based on the contents of original announcement, there doesn’t appear to be any changes to your ability to alter your payment details. It’s highly unlikely that they’d ever implement a change that means you have to stick with the payment method you choose in February… forever.

And what would have happened if you did make withdrawals to Paypal during that time? I’m assuming one of two things… 1) The money goes to your Paypal account but you can’t access it until the issue is resolved, or 2) the transfer fails and it goes back to your Envato account. I think 2 is what actually happens, but I’m assuming 1 is a possibility.

So either way, the final outcome is kind of the same. I.e. before the change you’ll be able to withdraw and access your money in your Paypal account, when the Paypal issue is resolved… and after the change, you’ll be able to withdraw and access your money in your Paypal account, when the Paypal issue is resolved.

Yes.

That will happen automatically. Any amount over the minimum Payoneer withdrawal threshold will be withdrawn automatically… whether that be $50, $500 or $5000.

Based on the contents of the original announcement, that’s not an option unfortunately.

Absurd as with all the recent changes.

Questions:

  1. Why is it that you have to enforce a single payment method. If you have the system in place, why make life of authors miserable?
  2. Is it possible to change withdrawal method every month? We wish to use Payoneer and SWIFT on alternate months.
  3. Since you’re imposing a change without author consensus, can’t you act responsibly and slash the fees on forced automated withdrawals? Surely your bank doesn’t charge $25 on SWIFT transfers with the bulk volume of transactions you have. It doesn’t matter for us, but it definitely does for authors with smaller monthly amounts.

That’s really bad news. It’s definitely kill all existing partnerships.

However, as I understand we’re still able to change our details and payments method each month, right? At least I found this info in your previous article http://inside.envato.com/usa-tax-withdrawal-changes/

We understand that from time to time an author might change their account details, and therefore you can update your details in any subsequent month. However you will no longer be able to split withdrawals in a single month.

Who will pay monthly comission for my SWIFT payments? DO NOT force automatic payments, it gives nothing for US-based company. What the reason of this change with automatic payments? Give an answer.

I’ve recently discovered that Payoneer is better for me, however, I need to send some money on my PayPal acc as well. Will I be able to change payment method every two or three months?

If so, what’s the point of forcing us to pick one if eventually, we will change the payment method anyway?

Somehow, I have a feeling Envato will become a second Template Monster within next 3-5 years…

I believe some older people still remember days when Template Monster was the king for templates and no one could ever think it might change. However, a few poor decisions and Template Monster popularity started going down, which led into Envato becoming one of the most popular marketplaces.

Now, Envato repeats the same steps as their competitors did… And I see some new yet promising services (Envato competitors, to be exact) becoming more and more popular now. In other hand, if Envato wants to kill its business slowly, it’s their right to do so.

If your earn not enough to be withdraw monthly via swift method so why you don’t use Payoneer or PayPal and keep your money there than withdraw it to you bank account each few month

Ok, for Payoneer minimum payout will be reduced to $20, I understand correctly?
What about the fees? Will it also be reduced?
This is important to authors who don’t get enough money for the swift and if in their country PayPal does not work… And for new authors also.
If I sell less then it is not profitable :disappointed_relieved:
