All of my sites cannot connect to the envato market API. The error says, "Failed to connect to the Envato API. Please try again and if the issue persists contact the hosting providier to ask: “Please un-block PHP connections from WordPress to api.envato.com”.
I have worked with my host about the issue and they have done everything they can. They have whitelisted everything possible. I do not have the same issue on other hosts.
What can I tell my host specifically to fix on their end?
The only thing the web hosting provider should do is to whitelist (add to their firewall exceptions) the domain: api.envato.com
If this doesn’t work either, please check the Envato Market Plugin help tab in the admin area, for any other common issues. You can also email marketpluginsupport@envato.com. They may ask for your Envato username, the item you are trying to install/update, and some temporary WordPress login details so they can debug any issues.
There can be a number of things that cause this issue. If you’ve already spoken to your hosting provider and they haven’t been able to fix it, then please follow @unlockdesign’s advice and open a support ticket. We’ll likely give you some instructions to pass on to your hosting provider to help us troubleshoot the issue.
