Eventually I want to get a dedicated solo violin library.
Just curious of what others think is the best.
Upon initial search, the 8dio seems to be the best overall sound, second is Embertone’s effort.
Not impressed with East West’s solo violin.
Those are the only ones I’ve heard enough.
Are their any others? What is your favorite?
Thanks!
Have you tried LASS first chair violin patch? I think it’s great. Legatos are awesome. The problem is the amount of RAM necessary to run it.
Yes, my vote goes to the 8dio studio solo violin!
I have the east west solo violin as well, but it is not as expressive and playable… 8dio’s effort is much better in my opinion.
The embertone sounds great as well, but i never tried it.
Embertone for sure and i really like “Cinestrings core”.
There’s a great solo violin library called “signor paganini”, however it can perform only stacato…
“signor paganini”
I bought that when it was on sale for 14.99 USD (still might be).
Pretty good, but like you said only for stacato. So it gets limited use. I like the filtering and volume options for each individual string. pretty nifty. it could have use more velocity layers and samples, but decent overall.
So here’s my change to redeem myself for accidentally putting this thread in item discussions.
Here’s an example of me using the signor paganini kontakt instrument

Sounds great! but out of my price range and memory range
The Best I’ve heard it’s library from korg kronos… “Exs11 Legendary String”. Really Natural Sounds .
I searched Solo Violin in VST, but so Amazing… Not Found
