I’ve been following this post for a long time from the time when I started to see the Elements dangers, back then none of you were complaining about sales

I don’t see why not I can post here?

The Elements dangers has created such a divisive problem on AudioJungle and now many many authors are now struggling with the effects of traffic being aggressively diverted from AudioJungle to Elements. The advertising has been such a bone of contention since at every stage of the market, Envato tries to steer buyers to Elements - even on authors profile pages.
Are you not an Elements contributor yet you post that you understand the “pain” of authors here on AJ however how does one consolidate two revenue streams compared to the many that only has one and that is diminishing month by month?

I do have 4 products in Elements but my monthly income is 100-200$… I will not add more and probably I will remove all in the near future, is a joke, a plugin is constructed in 6-12 months, even more, I have a plugin that I am working on since 2015…, it is impossible to make a living selling them on Elements, literally impossible!!!

Elements is a very good deal for Envato but I am very surprised that they don’t realize that they are shooting themself in the foot, how can this work if more and more authors are desperate to see their portfolio and hard work crash…

The way I see it and I am not trying to create a big fuss about it Element is the end of the Envato marketplace as we know it, is a matter of time that what happened to AJ will happen to CC and the rest… is a disaster… I have said this from the first-day Elements was released and I was right, back than none of you cared about this or comment here on the forum, I remember that there were AJ authors extremely happy for the Elements bonus…

AJ is the first victim, the irony is that Elements thrives with files from AJ and other stock footage… is funny and sad at the same time… who is to blame here?

You have been very candid with your response and that is to be applauded. It is a shame that the subscription model is not what it seems for authors and now we wait for time to be called on AJ.

Everybody should speak their mind and I am sure Envato is opened to this, they should see and listen to everything, good or bad… I hope I am wrong and things will change for the better in the near future.

As a side note my sales are very good on CodeCanyon, but I do put a lot of effort and hard work to maintain it, is not an easy job but I would not do anything else, I love this stuff.

All the best!

There were lots of authors commenting here and worrying about the negative impact Elements would have on the marketplace, long before it was released. Many of them have since joined Elements.

Music Producers are to blame, they accepted the 90% devaluation, but I suppose that monthly “bonus” kind of gives those authors “stock” in Elements. That “stock” pays dividends.

It would be great if Envato IPO’d on the NASDAQ and allowed all authors to buy shares pre IPO.

For those who may not know…IPO = Initial Public Offering of share. Or they could do a “direct listing” but again, it would be great if they first sold shares to authors who’d want to buy in and get the “early bird” perk of being an early investor.

The reality is that they have created a “preferred” community where authors are hand picked to make money from Envato’s private elements club (which by the way is not going that well for most authors).

Subscription models seem to have infested the whole economy. It pops up in places where you would least expect it. I really don’t like it. You see it more and more with software as well.

Guys, i may sound naive, but i’m really interested, does anyone know if there is an author who is not a member of elements and still doing well on audiojungle? Or literally everyone on the market got screwed? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Is there any chances for a newcomer to get some decent sales in the future or it’s not even worth a try as AJ already lost 90% of the buyers?

The only way to survive with Elements actively creaming off the traffic is to create tracks that are so good, so unique and adaptable that do not feature on Elements then you will make some reasonable sales. Revenue before sales figures I might add. There are too many tracks that are bland and similar to each other in an over-saturated category that these kind of items can be found on Elements without hunting high and low for them. Why authors still continue to upload the same kind of items is beyond me in the hope that it will bring a sale.
Be different and hopefully you will grow your brand that way.

Totally agree, @gballx . If a customer searches today for “inspirational corporate”, he get 291.000 results.
As I wrote in a previous post: How big is the chance, that the customer will choose YOUR item, if you’ve uploaded new tems in this category? The chance is 1:290.000 - it’s more like a lottery than a serious, plannable business- and this fact alone is not the guilt of envato. The authors have reasoned.

That’s the only way to make reasonable sales.

Ah I know how to make these tracks sell - stick an ultra low price on it and watch the money come rolling in.

…and buy your own tracks to get attention.

No, seriously: I have my doubts, that a low price and buying own tracks will help anyone. I tried to dump one of my items for a month. I sold it one time. And that track was sold the month before also one time. With a $5 price I earned $0,68. I changed the back the price instantly.
Also I think, that it’s senseless to buy the own tracks. The investment is too high and it is unsure that customers will step in.

But imagine the surprise at Christmas and the look of happy faces when you give someone special your music.

Just remember to remove the price tag.

That’s a really good suggestion @gballx , I tried it and it has worked out well for me, it did take some time to get some sales on the unique/different sounding tracks, but they did sell at a good price and it was definitely good for the revenue, I hope they sell more in future.

This market is dead, Envato has killed their own market.

393,995 corporate tracks ! 341,289 cinematic tracks, 335,910 happy tracks, 480,952 inspiring tracks. And this is just an unfiltered result based on simple meta tag search. Lets not get into ’ this is what the market demands’ debate. Its a derogative , fake conclusion based on self buyers and shamefully low priced products. The customers are looking for variety. The returning ‘corporate’ products customers are already elements market customers. Lets imagine you are a customer in a clothing market and just entering one store. Everything you see is white t-shirts. Of course, in the backstore there is a variety of products, new, and fresh. You do not have the time to browse the store. You just jump to a very logical conclusion. This store sells White T-shirts for pennies! And thats a judegement call. Stop uploading s**t and the market may revive. Or maybe you wanna be one of the tens of thousands of search results.
