Please I made a resume templates in PSD and AI which was rejected after review.
Please need your advice to better my designs.
They emphatically said ‘As the submission is too far off the standards we require, you’ll be unable to re-submit on this occasion’. Please I want you all to point out what to do and what not to do , the design pattern and the more.
The structure of the design.
The designs were 6- pieces
The PSD has one Resume, one Cover letter and one Reference
The AI has one Resume, one Cover letter and one Reference

Hi @winresume, I am terribly sorry if you don’t like my harsh honesty, but, I’m totally agree with the reviewer, your templates are too far off the standard … on the whole it seem very outdated, like going back to the 70s 
Both header designs are so messy with those colorful blocks and circles, just make it simple, you can change it with one simple header bar and put all header text and icons on it.
There so many problems with the typography. Learn more on how to choose a suitable typeface and how you make it work with your layout, how to choose font color sets, font sizing, etc.
Column alignment. If you do not want to place a dividing line between left column with the right column, just right align the left column and left align the right, otherwise, it would look messy like you have here
The second design is better, but you still have many things to do with the header and typography
Keep trying … you can do it

Thank you for your advice . Your right and there is nothing harsh here. I will need you more for your advice on my next design.

The actual concept is not that bad (although a bit overcrowded) but as @GridRide said the execution is not up to par.
The typo forget needs overhauling, the header area needs rethinking to deal with the empty space and padding and those diagonal stripes don’t really help in the border areas
