I get information, that Envato Element will create a new category specifically for 3D and cut off date for 3D in Graphic Category?
So do the 3d items I create automatically move to that new category or not?
and does it have to be an invitation to become a 3D author?
Thank you.
Hi @Sixtysixlab!
We do have a new 3D category on the way for Elements - it’s currently expected later this year. There are a few things that need to happen before it launches:
- Elements Authors who have been submitting 3D items in the Graphics category will no longer be able to do that, once the new category is available for uploads.
- Envato will be moving existing 3D packs from the Graphics category, publishing these over in the new 3D category on Elements.
- During the launch period, direct uploads for 3D content won’t be available straight away. We’ll provide instructions on how to submit 3D content during that transition.
We sent an email last week to the Elements authors who currently have 3D items for sale (e.g. including .OBJ versions for a Graphics pack), with some more information.
For any 3D authors who aren’t on Elements yet, we will have more information on how to apply for the new Elements category after it launches.

But I didn’t get an email or invitation from Team Envato Element? and I have 3d assets also in Element in the Graphic category now. So I don’t know for that.
I’ll find out more information for you - I know that currently we’ve only contacted a small group of authors for the initial launch of the 3D category, and that we will be inviting more authors to apply for 3D access once the category is live.
You will need to submit an Elements Expression of Interest (EOI) to apply for each category that you want to sell content in, as there is a portfolio approval required. There currently isn’t a way to apply directly to 3D, as we’ll be updating the EOI form once the new category is available.
If you originally applied to join Elements with a content type that wasn’t Graphics, that might explain why you did not receive the email: all of the initial group have been approved for the Graphics category, and were also selling 3D content bundled with their Graphics items.
