From the last ‘Business Themes’ in July 12, 2016 there haven’t been more contests for authors. It would be fantastic a new contest where authors have to create WordPress Themes of some matter that there isn’t yet on ThemeForest.
Is there any reason for this absense?
There have been dozens of contests since then, but just no Most Wanted contests. Questions were asked recently and there are no plans to run any more in the immediate future, but they may at some point.
I guess they need to sum up whether such contests are worth the return, and as more content and different niches are rapidly filled by an ever growing author base… there’s less of a need to prompt the community to make specific content that the marketplace needs.
