Updates to my theme used to get approved within an hour through Trusted Update Approval. But now it’s taking longer than 24 hours. Anyone else experiencing this?
I have updated few items the day before, took around 30 minutes for approval.
The item update for ThemeForest is 1 working day by the way.
It seems like my ‘Trusted Update Approval’ privilege is taken back for some reason. And now I have to wait for someone from envato staff to actually approve the update. But I don’t see the reason why this is happening all of sudden? Envato is getting very buggy lately. Analytics is still not working properly. Some of my themes got documentation as unrated even though all of the themes are using same documentation format. It’s only after directly asking a reviewer to look at it that the issue was resolved. And now suddenly I have to wait for than a day for update to be live.
The trusted update guidelines are here:
It might be that some authors have not applied the update guidelines in a correct manner which could lead to some delays, or perhaps Envato do routine checks on authors when they make frequent updates just as a precaution.
Last time I updated a theme was about 10 months ago through Trusted Update. Now both my recently approved theme and an old theme require manual review. One of them has a critical update. It shouldn’t take more than a day to get updates approved. I have a really clean account, all of my at least last 6 themes got approved without any hard/soft rejection. I have 4.85 average rating. I see no reason why this would happen.
Our replies crossed over each other - so when I made my comments I think you were typing your input too at the same time LOL.
It might be that Trusted Updates for authors have time limits - for example authors updating themes very often might stay in a bracket of being Trusted, whereas you said that your last update was 10 months ago.
I’m only guessing my friend - best to check with Envato Support to see if there might be issues you or I are not aware of. Hope you get it all sorted soon!!
Hi @TemplatesZoo,
I wouldn’t know the details behind the Trusted Update Approval but I think if you didn’t update any of your item for a long time (around 6 months) then Trusted Update Approval process will take time for the first one but after the first one approve your Trusted Update Approval will be quick as usual (within few minutes to hour). Also your review process can take time for the first one (1/2 times in a year) but after the first one approve your Trusted Update Approval will be quick.
Thanks
I don’t understand the problem you’re having it here. One way to another, it will be approved anyway and once you submit the changes, it doesn’t matter for you if it’s updated within an hour or within one day.
Normally it does not matter but if it’s a critical issue you need to fix asap, you can notify the user within an hour with an update. Without trusted update you are waiting for like 30 hours. A lot of CMS’s do not have version control, so the blog remains broken. Happens rarely but happens.
Anyways I would directly contact envato and see what they say.
You haven’t updated your themes within the 10 months, I’m sure they can wait one more day
For the issues, most the systems ( WordPress, Elementors, etc ) notifies the developers at least a month before their system changes/updates. If you follow their blogs, there’d be no “critical” issues that the users need update within an hour.
It’s kind of funny you seem to be mad at me without even understanding the problem. I upload blogger themes and they don’t provide any info or update before or after making the changes. And I don’t want ‘trusted update’ privilege, I had it for like forever and it suddenly stopped so I wanted to know the reason behind it. Goodbye.
I don’t have any issue with your current situation, at this point, it’s your problem but It’s not really an important privileges or feature to have it or not to have it. Anyway, good luck with finding the reason behind of it, I have doubts that the support will have the courtesy to explain the situation, they would’ve done it already if they feel like to explain the policy.
