I’m a web designer and a new client has a site that was built using the Enfold theme. It is outdated - she’s running version 4.5.2 - and I’d like to update it to the current version, but I’m concerned that jumping several versions may break things on the site. Can anyone tell me if this is safe to do? Thanks for any tips.
She is going to have to also repurchase the theme as we think it may be registered to her previous developer’s account, but I’m not sure how to contact billing directly to see who it’s registered to.

Create a staging website and perform an update over there to check if there’s any issue first.
As the license is not transferable, there’s no need to contact for the previous developer and it’d be best to get a new account ( She should get her own account ) to avoid future issues but you could try to get the updated version of the theme from the previous developer. ( You need to contact directly to the person who purchased the theme but my opinion, you may just end -up waiting for nothing )

Thanks for your fast reply! Good idea on the staging site. I agree that she should probably just get a new Envato account as well.
