Trademarks in Tags (e.g. YouTube, Instagram)

Hi everyone!

Recently, I received a rejection note from the review team stating that trademarks are not allowed in tags, specifically terms like ‘YouTube’ and ‘Instagram’. However, I couldn’t find any specific information about the use of trademarked terms in tags in the Help Articles or Author Guidelines.

At the same time, the use of terms like YouTube, Instagram or TikTok in tags and descriptions seems to be a common practice on the market. I’d really appreciate some clarification on the trademarked terms, such as the names of social media platforms–are they strictly disallowed in tags, even when used in a descriptive or promotional context? If so, maybe Envato could provide a guideline update to make this clear for all authors?

Just trying to follow the rules while also keeping my items discoverable, like we all do :folded_hands:t2: Thanks in advance for any clarifications on this.

There’s one here, just follow the reviewers request. For AudioJungle, it doesn’t say trademarks can be used in tags/titles.

Trademarks in tags are not allowed as they breach copyright. I used FIFA back in 2014 for the World Cup and was told not to for this reason. Also UEFA and Olympics is not allowed either for the same reason.
