Hello,
Has anyone ever thought of making a player that maybe if included on all site pages would do this:
play a music/audio file across all pages of a site.

So If I enter the site, the audio file starts. Then if I decide to click on a different page, it’s still playing where it left off.

I’ve heard of the Ajax solutions, etc - just wondering if this is possible to make a jQuery plugin so we don’t have to do any of that to our sites

Exactly like that - couldn’t get it to play but yes, just like that. Would it be able to not stop while the next page is loading? If not, that’s fine. Just so it’s persistent across pages - if it’s halfway during the song and you click on another page it will pick up where it left off.

I like that - but is there a plugin more user friendly? If there is anything like this that’d be awesome!

I had bought activeden item# 89254 hoping I could get it play continuously across all page loads… nope lol. So I’m also interested in a music player like the one SportTips gave but with more design flare.

You can do this with any music player, but it’s not the player itself that has continuous play. Either you need to load new pages via AJAX, or put your entire site inside an iframe. I’d avoid going old-school and use the AJAX method instead; the “Smartajax” plugin available on CodeCanyon could help out with that.

The example i showed streams youtube audio, some tracks may no longer be available. I should update the list, good luck tho.

Hi, i cant see from when this post is, but is this something that is still being worked on? I would love a site/template like this where i can run my music blog and people can play music while they load other pages on the site.

Hi @kenanjasarevic, I never found a real solution. A script suggested was: http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/open-source-web-music-player-with-playlist-support-scm-music-player/

The other suggestions were:

  • Use an iFrame (build a website with the player, then have the rest of the website come in through an iFrame)
  • Use Ajax (preferred solution)

* I apologize if posting that link breaks forum rules…there isn’t a player on the market like this yet.
