Request for Update on Envato Marketplaces

Hello @hichameassi, @BenLeong

We’ve noticed increasing layoffs and the closure of forums, which has raised concerns among authors. Could you please confirm whether there are any plans to close the Envato Marketplaces? If so, we kindly request that you inform authors as early as possible so we can plan and secure other sources of income.

The marketplaces appear to have been inactive for months—there have been no updates, ongoing issues with payment methods, and a lack of communication. Authors depend on this platform for their livelihoods, and we urgently need clarity on the situation.

We would appreciate your transparency and consideration in sharing any updates with the community.

Thank you.

It’s been told several times their focus is Elements. If you can’t read between the lines, noone is going to tell you that you’re on your own.

I didn’t ask about their focus — I just want to know when they plan to close the marketplace.

Uh, oh, let me do the reply for you:

Hello,

Thank you for raising your concerns and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We understand that many authors rely on Envato Market for their livelihoods, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

While Envato continues to evolve as a business, the Envato Marketplaces remain an important part of our broader ecosystem alongside other initiatives such as Envato Elements, which is currently the main focus of our company. We strive to ensure that each part of our business continues to deliver value to our community of authors and customers, while adapting to the changes in the creative and digital industries.

We acknowledge there have been challenges, as the closure of certain communication channels and we are actively working to address these areas to improve the author and customer experience.

To address your main question, at this time, there are no confirmed plans to close the Envato Marketplaces. Should there be any significant changes in the future, we are committed to providing our authors with timely and transparent communication to allow for adequate planning.

We appreciate your ongoing contributions to the Envato community and thank you for your patience as we continue to invest in and evolve our platforms.

Kind regards,
XYZ

My prediction is/was mid-summer 2027 but considering things happening little bit faster maybe next year mid-summer but noone would come and tell you that they were going to shutdown the marketplace advanced ( as they did with Studio and Forum, they will announce couple of weeks earlier )

Just move everything as fast as to your own marketplace.

Instead removing everything from marketplace I recommend to all authors to remove everything from Elements. I say this especially for theme and code authors who still can profit on marketplace only.

It’s not gonna work unless if everything removed all together, otherwise whoever stayed would be taking more advantage but it’s late. Most of the buyers have access unlimited items, it’s not gonna make any difference as long as Elements banners are still there and Envato does the same marketing as before but I have doubts about it - most of the “Envato” staff are being left alone and they won’t focus on marketplace.

For CC, it’s matter of time sale would be zero for all authors, everyone has already tasted so far, for TF, themes for Avada, 7, alike, when they moved to their own marketplace, it’d happen the same. I have already seen some of the “elite” started to leave “exclusivity” and managing their own licensing as they know it won’t last long and they gotta start from somewhere.
