Payment Failing ('Something Went Wrong') and Now Cannot Log In

I’m currently experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Envato account and would appreciate any help or insights from the community.

The primary problem started when I tried to make a payment on Envato ([If you know which site, e.g., ThemeForest, CodeCanyon, mention it here, otherwise “on the site” is fine]). I carefully entered all my payment details – card number, expiry date, CVV, billing address, etc. – ensuring they were correct and complete. However, every single time I attempted to complete the payment, I received a generic ‘Something Went Wrong’ error message. I tried this multiple times, double-checking all the information each time, but the payment consistently failed with this error.

Adding to the frustration, immediately after these unsuccessful payment attempts, I found that I am now unable to log into my Envato account at all. When I try to sign in using the standard login method (email and password), I receive the following error message:

Sorry, we weren't able to sign you in using that link. You can try signing in again.

I have tried signing in repeatedly since this started, ensuring I’m using the correct email and password, but I keep getting this exact message and cannot access my account.

So, to summarize the issues:

  1. Payment attempts fail with a ‘Something Went Wrong’ error, despite correct details.
  2. Following these payment attempts, I can no longer log into my account and receive the specific error: “Sorry, we weren’t able to sign you in using that link…”

Has anyone else encountered this specific combination of payment failure immediately followed by a login lockout? Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing this, or any potential troubleshooting steps I could try?

I have also contacted Envato Support directly about this, but wanted to reach out to the community in case someone has faced this and found a solution or workaround.

Only Envato ( staff ) can help you to solve this issue and I don’t think you’d be able to find any help here. Although, it sounds like you’re locked out due to unsuccessful payment attemps, you should’ve stopped after the third time.
