I am planning to make my first WordPress theme for Themeforest so before jumping in, I would like to have experts opinions from here on which Wordpress page builder should I use? I intend to use WPBakery Page Builder or Elementor? Can anyone please tell me which is best for User-friendliness, compatibility and all?

It depends a lot on how the theme functions and what features it has.
Personally I prefer Elementor but both have their credits

I’m not an author so best to ask support but I can’t see why it wouldn’t.
That said this is a premium marketplace so relying on just the core feature without custom creating some exclusive features/functionality probably won’t be enough
